What brought this on is that Envy going north to eliminate Roy, Armstrong, and others who had some sort of relation to Hughes did not settle well with me at all. x_x Here's to hoping that Envy remains a pissy little bitch and goes south or something. Anyway, now onto the dream....
Roy was ordering some troops or something, and then the men left, but he heard footsteps behind him, so he turned around and gasped in shock because it was Hughes. His throat grew tight and he felt unable to talk, only utter the man's name. His practical mind denied that such a thing could happen, that he couldn't be alive and standing before him nor was he a ghost because he doesn't believe in such things.
After much fighting with the thoughts whirling in his mind, he concluded that he was only dreaming (though he wasn't) and that it was okay to let down his guard and fantasize. Still, he was cautious as he approached and touched Hughes, then hugged him tightly, and felt that he was warm and very real-like. He broke the embrace, and Hughes asked him what was wrong and insisted that he should be happy about getting a promotion. Roy said that he had missed Hughes a lot, that his death really had been breaking him, and Hughes assured him that he wouldn't leave his side.
So then they kissed, and Roy remembered how good it felt to kiss him and such, but then he felt a sharp pain, as if his stomach was being cut open. It caused him to gasp in pain and tightly grip Hughes' shoulders, and he looked down. Hughes was holding one of his cool little knives, covered in blood. His hand, front of his uniform, and of course the front of Roy's unifrom where Roy had been deeply slashed across his stomach were all bloody as well.
Roy looked up at Hughes again, but the man's beautiful and sexy green gaze had changed to this scary blood-thirsty look. "He looked just like that," Hughes said, as his body transformed back into Envy, "Surprised and confused that his lover was the one to end his life." Roy managed to get out a few swear words, then moved one of his hands up to Envy's neck, as if to choke him or break it. Envy smirked, "Go ahead. That won't kill me."
Roy did so, attempting to hurt him and kill him, if only to give him some self-satisfaction or something... His eyes narrowed as his breathing became more labored and he could taste blood in his mouth. Envy grabbed onto his wrist, twisted it back, then stepped back and turned to do one of his little swinging kicks that knocked Roy to the ground.
"You're pathetic, Flame Alchemist," Envy said looking down at the man, who was obviously in pain --physical and mental-- but fighting hard not to show it despite the tears welled up in his eyes, "Just like every other human that I've come across." and I woke up some time after that, while Roy was laying on the ground and angsting about how stupid and foolish he was...
Now see, I'm worried. But still, even if Envy does attempt to trick Roy by transforming into Hughes, it won't work completely. Yes, his emotions might cause his judgement to wash away, but Roy is still a practical thinker and will know something is wrong if he sees Hughes standing before him. He will probably falter a bit, giving Envy time to make the first move, but if the attack isn't life-threatening, Roy will seriously attack him because he would be quite upset that his dead friend was being used as a means to hurt him... (Yay, for run-on sentences :D )
Anyway, yep, that's it. Hope you didn't enjoy reading this~
