Here we go...

So our speculations were correct. Envy is indeed a child of Hohenhaim, perhaps from one of his lovers, and I assume Hohenheim left him when he was young. Perhaps returned later to find him dying, and made him a homunculus? I don't see any other reason why he'd harbor hatred. I mean, Hohenheim left him to go have other sons with another woman.

I don't understand how they're going to bring Archer back. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the few who love Archer, but all that will fix him is a fragment of the stone. Did you see? he's still bandaged like a mummy -poor baby. ;_;

OK, so Tucker transmutates Nina, but he had no way of bringing back a soul. I mean, there isn't a soul left to fix, right? Scar took care of that back in the eps, when he turned her inside out. Though perhaps, with more help, he could do it. I'd like to see Nina back.
Because of this, we found out everytime the stone is used, it erodes, thus eroding Al's body because he IS the stone. Now that Ed can't touch him, there's no way to transmutate his armor back to the way it was. Game over.
And if they do make Lust human, it would probably have to be the second to last thing they do. This all depends on how much energy is used. Taking Al's body and afixing his soul will be last for sure because it uses the most energy. Creating a body out from scratch.

All in all, I personally think Envy will be the last homunculi to be defeat. This means that Lust and Pride could POSSIBLY live. I don't see the Fuhrer as completely bad and neither Lust. Wrath might liv too, but I don't know if I see that happening; Sloth dies in the next ep.
But right now, I'm more worried about Roy and Armstrong. Their chances of dying are 50/50 unless someone puts a stop to the troops moving. -__-

I can't believe it, 5 eps left. Of course, then there's the movie :D but I personally think there should be another season. But we can't forget our beloved manga!

I thought we decided that Roy was safe because he did a voice-over in the movie preview...?

Well, Hohenheim said that Trisha was his "first and only", but then again, we saw him flirting with Ross. Uhh....I don't know. =D;

I'm also wondering how they're going to wrap things up enough for the series in 5 episodes. I'd rather be left satisfied instead of have to wait for a whole year for a movie. ::hiss: >=(

As for Archer (yes, poor mummy baby. XD)....I think he's gonna stay in his cage and rot. I have a feeling Central was left vulnerable (how much can Archer do in this state?) for a reason. =(
Aly: Roy/all the innocence x [me]mother on August 31st, 2004 06:30 pm (UTC)
Well it has to be this way. Because, see, if Envy was one of Trisha's, she would be more motherly towards him now that she's Sloth. Why would she be around one of her 'sons' and not say a word?

He can't be staying in his cage, beacuse Fuhrer mentioned Archer is goign to take care of a few things.

It would be an extremely bad idea to kill Roy plot-wise; not to say it won't happen (because who knows), but he's essentially shaping up to be the second protagonist in the story. Although I love Al, Roy initiates MUCH more action and parts of the story than him (and story wise that's what's important). It would nearly be on the level of killing Ed off if Roy were killed.

Killing off Hawkeye/Armstrong/all other supporters, though, I could see happening. :-/ Roy and Liza's behavior indicated they KNOW that something's up and they're essentially being sent on a suicide mission; that's why they forced Fury and Havok to stay in Central. I don't know why Roy's letting Armstrong go with him, although my guess is it was an order from higher up. (Now that I think about it...I wonder if Liza went? I bet she did, we just didn't see it. Somehow I don't think she would have let herself be left behind; "ano hito o mamoritai" and such.)

Archer just won't die....and Envy's violence in this episode shocked me a little, although given his name it isn't surprising that he's so violent toward the idea of the Elric brothers.

Maybe Riza did come along but, my bet at the moment is that she's taken another route to the North so she can run into Roy and co. (Perhaps under her Margott Orange Peacoh disguise with the whole glasses thing?)

We haven't seen Riza's field experience like we have in the manga (when Havoc was shooter and Fuery communications and Hawkeye the sniper) so you never know. It would be a tad 'wierd' for lack of a better word for Riza to be the only one in like a group of a 5 000 men you know.

I haven't had a look at the sub yet, saw the raw and sub should be done in an hour or so and I'm currently watching hockey >_>; (well, there's the whole NHL dispute and the worried feeling that we won't have a hockey season so...World Cup Hockey's the best we've got at the moment XD)

Archer is probably going to be brought back in super chimera form.

Or yeah...just rot in his tomb.

Okay, after having fully watched episode 46 subbed we now know for a fact that people will in fact die in the North as well as a(some) key character(s) and we know how.

The Fuhrer thought only that Roy was the target but it turns out Dante wants everyone dead, not to mention that she's greedy. (So on the hitlist: Roy, Armstrong and the troops headed to the North...and I think if I remember correctly the summary for the episodes mentions Winry being there but out of place and Ed too[but he's actually there or..maybe not?] so Ed's going to probably bear witness to the death of someone close.)

At the moment, we should be worrying for Mustang's and Armstrong's safety (as well as that of those around them I guess). I mean a good chunk of the troops will die but in the process, something will happen, Envy's going to be there and be the murderer again.

Episode 47: Ed v Sloth with Ed as the victor but Wrath and Al both being hurt bad. Its not AS spoilerific as some other previews so I can't speculate much.

Theory: Could Greed have been a child of Dante's ? I mean Hohenheim has Envy [With her for all we know] Dante has Greed with another man. Both die, Envy being jelous of Greed with the whole 'Who's the better child' seals him. Or at least something along those lines.

If I get grey hair after this, I'm blaming the series o_O;. (If I was of the age to start getting grey hair XD;;.)

Okay, let's not turn this into a soap opera.

Oh this series hurts my brain!! The "what if's" make me dizzy. And I like it... I can't stop thinking about possibilities @_@;. I wish for the next episodes to run Saturday, Sunday, Monday, etc... speculation leads to grey hairs!

Oh! Insert the late-night improbablility ramblings...

I'm starting to doubt the possibility that it's going to be Mustang and Armstrong who die - simply because the characters know it's coming, they know to keep an extra eye open (could that be Riza's eye watching over them?), and the audience knows that Dante is out to kill them. This series has never made a habit of fortelling us that far in advance that they're going to do something incredibly drastic. If Gangan had never published the titles of those episodes then we get to the episode 48 preview and scream "*sees title and generally unhelpful preview* O_O OMG!! Dante's after Roy and Armstrong! One/both of them's gonna die!!" >_> They're a slick bunch of bastards, they wouldn't leave it that open for us.

I'm grasping at random hope to keep Roy and Armstrong alive.

Envy was way creepier/scarier with subtitles... I need to watch that bit again. He definatly has superiority/inferiority issues o_o;.
(Anonymous) on August 31st, 2004 11:07 pm (UTC)
Hmm...Envy might not be the literal child of Hohenheim. Just that he was created by him. But right now there's no confirmation on that.

And no, I wouldn't want to see Nina back. I love her to death, I mean she was the cutest thing on the show (seeing as though we hardly see Elysia). But I think her staying dead would bring to home one of the themes of the show: you can't bring the dead back to life. In fact, you shouldn't. That's just the way of the world, and although it's hard to accept, people have no right to play God. It's soo sad that Nina was taken, but what makes her different than all the other people who haved died during the course of the show, or even the course of history? I mean, other people's loved ones have died, right? Lovers, friends, children, parents. Why would Nina be the only person who gets to come back? No one's special in that sense.

And I think that Wrath is gonna die. He sees Sloth as his mother figure. When he sees Sloth die, most likely killed by Ed, he's gonna go nuts and force Ed into a show down. Just my own opinion.
Alymother on September 1st, 2004 12:34 am (UTC)
agreed.
