Greed and Dante-sama

I have a question about Dante-sama.

I saw in here somewhere that someone said that Dante transmutated Greed, but I distinctly Greed saying that it must have been 130 years since he was sealed, and I believe that Envy said something in the same area. How is it possible that she transmutated her? She can't be THAT old.

Well, she had his bones, and Lyla said Dante claimed to have failed a human transmutation that created Greed as the result. It's entirely possible that Greed was mistaken about how long it had been, and Envy never actually said a number, i don't think...

Well, someone was definitely mistaken about the time Greed spent sealed - Greed himself says 130 years in episode 21 (okay, he says "130 years, wasn't it?" or something to that effect), and in episode 34 Lust says 140 years. So it's either 130 years or even longer...

I think the question is... what did Dante give up? Everyone gave up something as a result of HT - so what did she give up? She didn't seem infirm in any way.

::shrugs:: She gave up mortality, haha, so old.

Perhaps it was 130 years since he was alive and in fact he was sealed for a shorter period of time? (and/or revived say eg. give or take 30+ years ago?)

Who did seal Greed?...yet another mystery no doubt =_=

Um. I do believe that Envy sealed Greed. Episode 30 or 31.

...Envy can't do alchemy. If memory serves, the area in which Greed was sealed looked like it had Ishbal-esque alchemy markings around the room (I'll check again, might've been the more common alchemy used in the show). So...yet another mystery >>;

It might've been Envy and another person, someone who was an alchemist...or maybe even his former self? Perhaps whoever Envy was, was an alchemist? A really good one? o_o

I don't think the alchemy symbols in the room had much significance to sealing Greed. The skull on the ceiling belonged to him.

*research* Episode 31 Envy says "I sealed you for a century and still you haven't learned your lesson." Or something like that. The ANBU translation could have been off and I wouldn't have known because I don't speak Japanese. ^^; Envy goes on to ask where the skull is. Greed says he destroyed it but Envy knows he hid it.

Ok, the only one who can activate an array is an alchemist. We have Lyra (what or whoever she is) to thank for that. But its not Envy, at least its impossible (unless envy can do alchemy too).

I think it is possible that when envy was still human, he sealed away greed.

so age list:

Sloth = 3-5 years old?
Wrath = 8-10 years old?
Lust = 30-40 years old?
Gluttony =????
Pride =????
Greed = 130+ years old?
Envy = 130++ years old!?

Also, Gluttony is around the same age as Greed and Envy, since Greed knew him prior to his sealing.

Pride is 60 yrs of age (He is after all the only Homonculus who ages)

You know...it might've been Lyra/Dante who sealed him or something. I found it odd that she had the rest of his bones and Greed was sealed with his skull. (Meh, random theory)

I'm going to somewhat keep my "Envy's former self might've been an alchemist who sealed Greed/Envy and someone else helped seal Greed" theories though. =)

Lust is much younger than that. She was created around the start of the Ishbal war, which was, I thonk, around 13 years ago. (It's scary to think she's younger than I am . . .)

Well, if the Dante body swapping with Lyla theory turns out to be correct, then I guess we could assume that after she lost whatever part of her body, she could always just switch to a new one. That could also account for how she lives so long.

I totally agree with the Dante taking Lyla's body idea.... Lyla TOTALLY changed the way she acts after episode 31. She's much MUCH different now... and she knows damn near everything.

Im thinking the same as the person above me, if Dante did give up her body then it could be possible that she's lived that long, as its been pointed out that Al cant age or die in a normal way, not until his seal is removed.

But the question is if she DID give up her body how did she get fixed back into a body instead of being taken through the gates as Al would have been?
Either way, if she had figured out how to do such a thing it would obviously also be of interest/relation to Greed as his ultimate goal was to be able to live forever.

This all just makes my brain hurt...but Im still pretty sure Lyla is behind it in some way ~~
