We Be Pimpin'
There are always lots of challenges and contests available for authors and artists … and now here is one for FMA readers!

fma_review is a reading review challenge aimed to inspire more readers to leave reviews for the stories they enjoy. Our first monthly challenge will run for the month of January 2012 with sign ups beginning December 15th. There will not be a challenge every month, though there will be a few throughout the year. There will also be a yearly challenge for reviews in 2012.

To learn more about fma_review, please check out the guidelines post HERE.

We need stories to review! Whether or not you decide to participate in this challenge, we welcome you to refer our readers to your favorite stories! We also have places to link to previously made rec lists, so if you've taken the time to compile one already, we'd love to have a link to it!

To add to the Recommendation list, please visit THIS POST.

…and while I'm here:

Round Two will begin collecting prompts on January 1st, so start saving your plot bunnies. If you are a fan of yaoi or yuri, you should check out fma_slashfest!

I have a history of getting my head bitten off for telling people what I really think. Is there anything in the review protocol about having to be 'nice'? Is there anything to keep people from just writing (in effect) 'great fic write more'?

That has definitely been covered in the challenge guidelines already, which is linked above. :D If you check out that post, I'm sure a lot of things will be cleared up. To answer in short for you here: yes, this challenge is NOT about tearing apart people's work, but rather a challenge to de-lurk and share the love in a time when stories generally get lots of page hits and favorites, but little to no comments.

okay, so it is different from a pre-publication beta where you're trying to nit-pick anything that might not work well in the final product. thank you.
