Lucky GameStop find!
So I just got home from running the streets (as my mother would say) with my favorite FMA enabler, tk31085. We popped into GameStop, where all used PlayStation 2 games were buy two, get two free. Imagine my excitement when I discovered that they had Fullmetal Alchemist: Curse of the Crimson Elixir!

Needless to say, they don't have it anymore.

So I was just wondering if anyone here has played the game and can offer some insight into what I can expect from it. I'm steadfastly resisting the urge to start playing right now, because I need to do some very much overdue work first, but if you have any tips or hints or even spoilers that you'd like to share, lay them on me. :)

My best advice is to buy the game guide--it's how I managed to get through the game without going crazy. You can find them pretty cheap, like at B&N--here's a link where you can find the guide for as little as $2.

You can contact me anytime if you have any questions--I've played the game through three or four times. It's my favorite game of the series.

It ends in a few hours but the plot is enjoyable

I got an import copy a while back and though there is some rehashing of the story ie with Cornello and Bald making appearances it's pretty fun.

And you can totally tell it's a Square game because the low level baddies look identical to Heartless lol.

I didn't really need a game guide... it seemed kinda straightforward to me... it was the other FMA game I had problems with (CAN'T KILL ROY OR ARMSTRONG CAUSE I'M ALL OUT OF AMMO FOR THE CANNONS FFFFFFFFFFFFFF). I do love the game tho. Good stress reliever when you learn various weapons and learn how to string combos together. I like beat 'em ups. :D

Personally, I thought it was one of the easier action RPGs, but it's fun for a few hours of mindless video gaming. Also, I like the cut-scenes. I would recommend this game for fans of the anime. Not necessarily for fans of gaming itself.

Good to know. I don't mind a bit of mindless gaming for a couple hours, and I'd like to see the cutscenes. I don't really know anything about the game except what's mentioned in The Art of Fullmetal Alchemist 2, which contains some of the concept art.
