Hohenheim of the light? Wow, they really are taking a turn from the manga, aren't they?
chrononuriko on July 15th, 2004 05:12 pm (UTC)
Hohenheim always had the nickname 'Hohenheim of the Light'...since even the first few episodes I believe.

He's even called that in the manga, I think....I remember that vaguely from somewhere at least.

Then again, manga discussion confuses me because although I have read all available scantalations and raws up to chapter 37, I have not once seen 'Father' referred to directly as Hohenheim...but everyone talks like it's confirmed and common knowledge, so yeah. Maybe my memory sucks and I'm getting a bunch of stuff mixed up and I'm wrong.

Do you mean the mention of Hohenheim? If so, he's been mentioned only once so far and that's by Izumi chapter 20. Ed and Al, after having had escaped near death by Izumi, ask her about the Philosopher Stone. Izumi mentions to them that someone else came to Dublith from Central (I think...) asking her about that, Izumi then goes on to say that the name of the man was Hohenheim.

I think Al asks what he was doing there and explains that he's thier father.

As for mention of Hohenheim being called "Hohenheim of the light" in the manga, I haven't seen any mention of it in the 7 volumes yet but I'll check and get back to you on that later. ^_^

Nah, I mean the creator of the homunculi that they keep calling 'Father.'

You know, the one who drank Greed :P

People keep saying that he's confirmed to be Hohenheim, but I sure haven't seen any confirmation...*shrugs*

And the one in the preview for 8. :D
chrononuriko on July 15th, 2004 08:07 pm (UTC)
Oh...you mean that he isn't introduced until volume 8? >_>;;...

I've only read the scantalations online, and barely pay attention to what chapter is which, much less what volume the chapters are in...oops...heh heh.

Well I don't think he's been like seen face-and-all just up to his chin I think. The preview for volume 8 shows him from the back and he's got the same physical traits as Hohenheim. (comparing what we've seen in previous chapters ^^)

After watching the ep 39 raw (where "Seibo-sama" first shows up) I looked up that word; literally it means the mother of a very important person, like a saint. Nowadays it implies the Virgin Mary, but before Christianity was introduced to japan it meant the Emperor's mother. It can also mean 'one's real mother'.

Yah, just thought I'd throw that out. ^_^

Thank god for 44, I thought they were hoping for the mass to forget about Hohenheim. XD

Still no Ling, though. ;_;
chrononuriko on July 15th, 2004 08:04 pm (UTC)
It's pretty much assumed that Ling won't be in the anime.

As great of a character as he is, they really don't have enough time. They need to resolve things, not introduce more ^^;
Sarah: envy_nagisathesisgundamnook on July 15th, 2004 08:11 pm (UTC)
It is possible that they may introduce him in the movie. It is suppose to take place 2 years after the ending of the series. They may do something around those lines. *is hopeful*
billypilgrim on July 15th, 2004 08:22 pm (UTC)
Bah, I know.. But I still want to see Ling animated. Even as a cameo..

Or a movie. >:D

*has not been following the manga, ;_;*

Who is Ling?
chrononuriko on July 16th, 2004 12:52 am (UTC)

Ling = The funny stereotypical chinese looking guy that is from Xing.
