Okay thanks for that.
Hopefully it'll work, if it doesn't then it just proves that I am a dumb***

Oh, HECK no!

Many of us have found lj wonky at times.

I actually got booted from a community because I asked for help using lj cut. Because I hadn't "cared" enough to read the FAQ.

Let's just say there's one very "high-placed" FMA fan (she runs a community) who would not be my nominee for Best Person of the Year Award. Most people are nice and understanding and want to help.

So, hopefully, that'll do it for you.

Good luck!

That is just plain stupid.
We are humans and we make mistakes, give them a second chance at least.

I don't know if this is how anyone else does it, but it's the simplest way that I can see. I don't mess with coding, I just use the "LiveJournal Cut" button. You have to be in Rich Text to use it, though.

After you've got your story or post set up the way you want it and you've decided where your cut should be, highlight the area you want to go behind the cut and click on the icon for "LiveJournal Cut." It will give you a dialog window wherein you type your 'behind the cut' text and [wah-la!] it's done.

I know other people spend a lot of time with coding and I've had mixed results with that, but mostly the button works fine. (Sometimes the whole thing will end up italicized, but I haven't figured out why yet...)

Good luck!

If you are linking to somewhere other than the community/page you are linking to, you have to actually link it to make it "LOOK" like a LJ cut, if you want it to look that way.

Use <B>(<a href="URL">URL</A>)</B>

(Hopefully this works x_X)

It should come out looking like (This is a Cut! :D)

At least this is what I do. :)

If you are posting onto the community itself, then just do what the person above said.
