Episodes?

I don't know how accurate this is, but Wikipedia has a listing of the Episode titles of Brotherhood up to ep. 5:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fullmetal_Alchemist_episodes#Fullmetal_Alchemist:_Brotherhood

So, it looks like our episode break down is this:

2. Backstory
3. Lior
4. Nina
5. Introduction of Scar

So meaning if they intend to follow the manga, then we've got the Resembool, 3rd laboratory, (possible Al angst arc) Hughes, and Rush Valley arcs before we even GET to Greed.

...I dunno, I was kinda hoping that'd we'd screw that and jump right into Greed so we can get to Xing and stuff, but whatever. As long as they're planning on getting to it SOMETIME, I'm happy, I guess.

I'll put in $5!

Actually, I think 'season' 1 will end after the Greed arc in the manga. The arrival of the Xingians comes after the major crisis of that arc, while everything is starting to normalize again.

Father plays an important role in the final scene of the Greed Arc (and Sloth DOES make a cameo in that scene), so it would make sense to show him but not Ling and the gang.

It really depends on how quickly they run through the first lot of episodes (aka the ones the first anime also did). After a quick check, Ling first shows in chapter 32 - so 30 odd episodes in maybe, which would make about a "season".

And also might explain why we haven't seen anything of Ling so far - publicising something that many months off is a bit pointless. So far.

I actually agree with you on the Father thing. Closing the "season" with a proper reveal of the Big Bad works quite well dramatically.

...Now I'm trying to work out where the next "season" would end, since there would be at least three on the manga timeline.
