I have a question about the colors of alchemy light...

Yellow - generic light
Blue - Those who have seen the Truth/the Gate
Purple - Those who use alchemy with a tattoo/some article of clothing (from what I read...)
Red - Philosopher's Stone

Roy has orange light and the Tringham brothers have green light with their plant alchemy. I'm just wondering, does anyone know of anyone else in the anime who has orange/green/some other colored alchemy light?

You know, this is something really interesting, even if I've never really thought about it before. Every alchemist has their own unique transmutation circle, so whether the colour of alchemy light can be linked back to that or not.

I really hope someone with more information about what you what answered comes along. I'm trying to find out what colours some of the other alchemists use during the series.

That is very interesting ... I actually thought Roy's was red? Have to check next time I pop in my DVD's ^^

I thought Roy's was red too! :) Maybe it's just the red-orange glare from the instant flames he can produce. To be honest, I never paid enough attention to his or anybody else's alchemy to notice what color it was. Kudos to whoever took notice of such a thing! :) I'm curious now about whether or not each alchemist has their own color for their alchemy!

True I'll have to check again but yes I do know that Ed's is blue as is Izumi's cause they have seen the gate ^^ ... now I'll have to check this out you realize soon ... lol

This is very interesting! I actually never thought about it.
In which case, though, how come during the first scene, with the failed transmutation, the light flashes purple? Hmmm.
And in the movie, the opening-the-Gate alchemy is purple.
Lyra uses her pendant, but her alchemy is yellow and red.

.......this is illogical =/

Good observations!

I'm pretty sure Roy had orange light due to the fire... but hmm.... I can't think of anyone who has any other color of alchemy! I've been reading the manga lately, so I could ramble off on some manga characters, but that wouldn't help you. Sorry! ):

Good eyes. I noticed this a little while back, but never thought to speak for fear I would be called stupid. I'm interested again.

Ah I believe Wrath has blue light that goes with his alchemy. You can see it when he was shocking the hell out of Izumi in the episode where she brought him back to Yock to destroy him. Saaad sad episode.

Wrath's being blue would make sense because he was part of the gate for a while. Could the purple from the first scene be because of what went wrong? Could that be one of the ways they knew it was going bad?

I'm wondering, if that is true, are any of the characters aware of it?
