FIC: Altered Perception, CH: 14
Title: Altered Perception
Rating: R
Characters: Havoc and Mustang mostly, with bits of Ed, Al, Hughes, Hawkeye, and Breda (no pairing)
Warnings: Kinda violent
Summary: Because you never really know a person.

Here's chapter 14: Ed ran up the stairs two at a time, sprinting up the flights as fast as he could. He could hear Alphonse crashing around somewhere below, trying to catch up to him. But there was no way in hell that Ed was going to slow down for him; there was no time for that and he wasn’t exactly happy with his little brother at the moment.

I am so! happy! you managed to get this chapter posted! (Remember, no pressure, though, when your life is so very busy.)

I am loving the psychological twists and turns this story takes, and how our perceptions are truly being altered about so many different characters.

Wonderful story! So well-conceived and well-written, not to mention emotionally gripping.

Thank you! *huggles* Your comments always make me so happy.

I was feeling so irritated with myself for taking so long on this chapter, but hopefully I'll have the next one up sometime this week. Gah.

We'll be happy whenever it gets up there. It's important that you're having a good time at school first and foremost. (Still going well? I know you were very happy it had started again.)

My first couple weeks of class have been ridiculously busy (thus my lack of updates), but I things will start to calm down now... guh. It's good, though. I love college XD

That's wonderful. It isn't often I've seen someone as thrilled as you were, when the first day of school had arrived. Heehee!

I always loved when university was starting. I'd kill to be able to go back to school.

Aw, I'm sure you still can, even if not right now. I still have many years ahead of me if I'm to get my Ph. D... let's see if I'm not completely sick of it by then.

PhD! Woo! Is it going to be related to your art? Is that primarily what you're studying?
sevlow: roy signsevlow on September 8th, 2008 09:48 pm (UTC)
Probably not. Art is only my minor; I'm majoring in English. I'm thinking of specializing in either Shakespearean Lit. or maybe Twain studies, if I can. Mark Twain is the MAN.

Oooh, I'm really envious.

I like Mark Twain. I'd be inclined to go with Shakespeare, but that would be a tough choice.

(And in a very stream-of-consciousness way, I was just remembering reading a book about a lot of soap opera writers with English degrees, who took plot ideas from Shakespeare's plays. And suddenly I'm wondering how possible it would be to do a story -- say, a Romeo and Juliet type story perhaps -- for FMA. I could see Romeo and Juliet perhaps being someone like Roy and Winry. But I'm not sure how I'd work their disapproving families. Hee!)

...I can't say that I haven't thought about it... *geeky smile*

Though my scenario was from A Midsummer Night's Dream, with Oberon/Roy and Titania/Riza quarreling the entire time while Puck/Ed (or possibly Puck/Hughes) traumatized the rest of the cast. The Mechanicals, of course, would HAVE to be the rest of Roy's staff.

I never really fleshed it out, but it was a fun idea to think about.

Ohmygosh, I'd read that for sure! (Hey -- you were thinking maybe you'd like to branch out into different types of FMA stories...)

For my part, being a crazy-mad mythology geek, I have seriously considered trying an FMA story where a bunch of crazy alchemists with different specialties fight with Our Heroes for a while, and then finally get shoved through the Gate into our world, where it turns out they're the foundation of the Greek mythological pantheon or something.

Oooh... I like that idea and I hope to see it someday... *hint, hint*

I will if you will.
