FAQ // Q&A | Application | Taken Characters | Requests | Holds | Game Guide

Your average multifandom alternative-universe role-play, thes1project bases its plot from a post-apocalyptic era set during the 1950s. A spin off from the end of World War II, a deadly virus know as Solanum has broken out amongst the nations at war creating the ability to reanimate the dead. After attempting to rid of the virus through warfare and weapons the world is leaves only behind mass chaos in their wake and stir up the already loose bonds of politics. A horrific fallout is the result, leaving the world in ruin and those who survive seek shelter. Thus the creation of the settlement Manhattan comes around. A combination of efforts by all sides of survival, Manhattan not only was built for those still living, but to keep the living dead out and create shelter for the affects of war. What the fallout also creates though is a break in reality that sends forward characters that certainly don’t seem to belong there.

Accepting of all series/fandoms, characters are drawn from their canon-verse and brought into this world, the gate bringing forth the potential for anything to happen. A combination of all genres, from drama to crack/humor, thes1project brings forth endless possibilities for players and characters alike.

It sounds like a great RP and you guys have set it up awesome, but dude, I gotta call on something.

Solanum and the way the symptoms are presented are straight out of the works of Max Brooks - World War Z and the Zombie Survival Guide. I dunno if you guys just did a search and took it as fanon or what, but to the best of my knowledge, that's his brainbaby. And, I, uh, did not see any credit. *shrug* Not that I'm some major gift to God roleplayer, but I did want to join. I can't in good concience if ya'll are okay with not crediting.

Hiya...I'm not a mod there, just a minion.

I think there was credit given somewhere in the FAQ or something...You can always email a mod and see. I just can't remember right now.

Found it. Item 26... http://tehfishtank.livejournal.com/536.html

But if it's a matter that you would rather not join because the credit is not waaay out there in the open, you may want to tag a mod and mention that. :)

Thanks. Heh, trying to get used to getting in the habit of wearing my glasses. :F Sometimes I make dumb mistakes like that.

I'm really trying not to be mean about it, or bitchy. Just a fan of WWZ like whoa. Anyway, I think I will contact a mod for it not being mentioned a little more prominantly. If we are rabid about crediting icons and such in fandom, I think this is something important as well. Thanks much! :)

(I really hope I'm not coming across as too mean! Sorry!)
aristastarfyr: stealing my icon 911aristastarfyr on October 23rd, 2007 12:16 am (UTC)
Heh, I no mind! I have my own issues about people and icons (of which I try not to be overly dramatic about, but gosh darn, I wanna use my icons about it. :P)

I'm not a fan of the WWZ B/C I don't even know about them, but I understand the need to make things okay. I just want one of those two chars to come in an mix up more angst.

ROFL, your icon FOR THE WIN.

WWZ is an incredible book. I highly suggest checking it out if zombies interest you. Heck, even people who don't like zombie stories like WWZ. :) It's a mockumentary of different people's experiences through the global Zombie takeover from practically every country, every kind of background, from movie starts to politicians to everyday people. So basically it's a compilation of short-ish narratives spanning the zombie takeover of the world. :D

I would totally love to play Izumi, by the way. :D Angst is great!

(bring on the angst!)

I believe it's still open! There's only like 3 fma chars right now, there. (Our winry, alas, had to drop out due to RL attack. -=tear=-)
