...anyone else getting pretty sick of these FMA being licensed posts...?

My own LJ had a public post basically saying STFU already. We get it, it's licensed, oh NO! I personally am getting twitchy going through my friends list and seeing God knows how many posts on this subject already.

Can't we have ONE post about it and the whining/depression/real discussion about it there in the comments rather then ten odd seperate posts saying the same thing? Takumou... >_>

On this subject as well. I wasn't so worried because Sonchou was supposedly still subbing the show. It now seems that is not the case. As such this does worry me, but my rambles on this subject will go to my own LJ.

And yet, instead of commenting in the comments about it, you add a new post.

Oh look, it's Mr Too Lazy To Get My Own Journal and Give a Name :D

Point is, which post would anyone be able to give a reply to that everyone would see? Most logical thing is to put a message where more people can see.
(Anonymous) on May 11th, 2004 12:07 pm (UTC)
... and that may be the rationale of every poster who has had something to say about recent events, and hence, the many repetitive posts. Trust me, I'm generally indifferent, just mildly amused. *shrugs*

And it's Ms, if you please. >3
orca_freak on May 11th, 2004 12:11 pm (UTC)
Then why not sign in and post your thoughts here under a name? o_O

I tend not to care for gender differences :D
(Anonymous) on May 11th, 2004 12:17 pm (UTC)
I have no idea why attaching a name to an opinion somehow validates the point they're making, but if you are so curious: I'm much a lurker, and while I have an lj, I avoid getting the journal involved in fandoms exactly because of accusational attitudes that arise from people defending their friends, this case an obvious example.

People can be scary, yo. ^_^
orca_freak on May 11th, 2004 12:22 pm (UTC)
Rar, fear me for standing up for my partner when some random anonymous person replies in a rude manner :O

Posting anonymously will more often than not lead to people being suspicious and wary of you. No one else is afraid to get involved.
(Anonymous) on May 11th, 2004 12:29 pm (UTC)
Actually, point taken. I'd probably react similarly if my friend was involved.

I apologize for the snideness, it was a somewhat uncontrollable urge. Frankly, I believe that anyone can post anything. This post reacted to other posts, I reacted to this one.

But again, I have no intention of irritating the hell outta you or anyone else, so we may well let it die. Sorry again. XD
Ghost: [Ed] ...uh-huh...sure....dr_ghost on May 11th, 2004 12:04 pm (UTC)
Interesting you can not sign in or give a name while commenting to this.

You seem to expect me to go through the past ten-odd posts just to comment saying "Omg stfu" when I won't even be sure if it would be seen?

Oddly enough, I feel more confident that this post would be seen than a passing comment on one of the other posts made on the subject.

So yes, spam I may be giving, but I would rather spam the once than see another six or whatever posts.

kthx bai.

Everybody needs to vent. You're doing it too. Just let it die. :) And there is some new stuff being said. I'm just not up for digging through one massive 500 posts entry and try to figure out what's important to know.
Ghost: [Ed] ...I rock...you know it...dr_ghost on May 11th, 2004 12:08 pm (UTC)
*nodnods* Exactly u_u One or two posts was just fine. Three or four I was finding amusing, past that it was getting stupid.

And to be honest, a brief run-down post about what is being said and what would be considered important is more use to most than several posts.

I see your point. The one thing about LJ comms that always pisses me off is how people think they need their own special post for stating their opinions on the same thing. Happens with any big news. But it's the trade-off. People don't want the comm to be static.
worldserpent on May 11th, 2004 12:07 pm (UTC)
What I don't understand is why everyone needs to post without giving any new information. Why must they spam the comm just to give a conventional opinion? It's not like there are more than four or five opinions on the matter anyway.
worldserpent on May 11th, 2004 12:06 pm (UTC)
Finally, someone has said what needed to be said. I deeply question why all these posts are needed. If there is already one post with the same information, the rest should just be left as on that post.

Why do people do this?

Yes, FMA was licensed. Okay.
When Funimation puts out the DVDs, we can critique them. It is said that the Fruits Basket disk they put out wasn't that bad. In fact, AnimeonDVD gave it a fairly high rating.
And yes, it might be showing on CN. You don't have to watch it on Adult Swim. You can just watch it on DVD when it comes out.

It's a big topic...if it bothers you just scroll past it...

In other words...it doesn't bother me.
hork13bajir5 on May 11th, 2004 12:49 pm (UTC)
1. I love your avatar.

2. I agree. Just allow some people to blow off steam; if some people re-post questions, that's okay, too. 'Cause people can't sit and read over 300 replies to find all the information.
Though, it would be logical to have one big topic on it and post ALL known information. Then edit it when new information comes up.
But, people do not run on logic alone. They have emotions, angst and rants. =3

^_^ Thank ya, I think my icon is appropriate right about now. =p
Ghostdr_ghost on May 11th, 2004 01:01 pm (UTC)
I second the icon comment ^_^

And I also agree with this, the problem I saw wasn't that the questions and confusion was being reposted, it was that it was being reposted over and over again, even when someone has posted a summary post of what was going on.

I wasn't really ranting out so much as just saying it's growing tiresome...if I rant on the subject it'll be in my own journal XP

I see what your saying, but if I'm getting away from the computer for even an hour, I have to go back a page on my flist. Not blaming it solley on this community, since I'm involved in some other active ones, but this doesn't really help...

People who complain that they will get to see it on Adult Swim annoy me greatly.

Ghost: [Ed] Beating me down into the dirt.dr_ghost on May 11th, 2004 01:41 pm (UTC)
Neither does England.

Personally, I'm not too fussed now it's being licensed, because it doesn't effect us here. If Souchou keep subbing like they say they will I'm content, otherwise myself and others in the UK area won't get to see to the end of it, subbed, dubbed, cut or whatever, we just won't see it because it won't be on TV and won't be on DVD to buy or anything.
Nafda: Roy Mustangnafda on May 11th, 2004 01:42 pm (UTC)
I hear that UK has their own verison of Cartoon Network, and that even EVA was aired over there.
Ghost: [Yuki] ' _ 'dr_ghost on May 11th, 2004 01:47 pm (UTC)
We do have Cartoon Network, but Evangelion wasn't aired on there. It was aired on the Sci-Fi channel and not until very late at night or insanely early in the morning, so not many people get to see anyway. The only reason Eva was shown was because it was released a long time ago on video anyway.

I don't even know if FMA would get a release over here due to lack of real anime interest and it's length o.o And unless it's something like BeyBlade or Pokemon then it won't be shown straight to air either and there is no channel that really catters for it .-.

Perhaps Teletoon? YTV used to show racier stuff, but yeh... it's just stuff like DBZ and Yugioh now.
Ghost: [Yuki] =_=dr_ghost on May 11th, 2004 02:29 pm (UTC)
I don't know if we have that here so I don't know ^^;

Racier if you mean.... Gundam Wing and Escaflowne, then no. =/
