Am I the only one that thinks the manga will not be licensed for a long time?

The current trend is to have a new "graphic novel" every two months. There are only seven tankoban out in Japan. We'd run out after only a little over a year and then have a huge gap between the next installments since it's a monthly publication with four chapters to a book. I could be wrong, but arn't a lot of the manga licensed and published in the USA either finished or really far ahead (ie: Inu Yasha)? =/

Del Ray is slow, but I've heard they're good? I think I'd rather have them snatch it up instead of say... the big American manga publisher we all know likes to kill things, Tokyopop.

I heard they're good. I flipped through one and instead of trying to edit out the SFX and replace them with big "BOOM!" or "CRASH!" in scary blocky black letters, they just put normal sized fonted *BOOM on the margins.

I've been wondering, and I don't want to sound dumb( I know I will, lol), but why is Tokyopop so bad? I know some of their stuff is iffy, but I've been okay with most of the things I've read from them. I am just too forgiving or what? What really is so bad with them?

Personally, I think they just licence way too much stuff and churn out books too hastly; I have found many errors in their composting jobs (apostrophes in Petshop of Horrors were ALL "O"s with a squiggle on top, mispelled words, shifted lettering, etc). Not to say others don't have their faults, but TP has a greater percentage of printing errors occuring. Or at least in the things I read. I was also kinda miffed that they screwed with bits of the dialogue from GetBackers. XD;

Anyways, I still buy from them, but I'd wish they'd catch more of their mistakes.

And I'd like to have a glossery for the sound effects like Viz does with their new unedited stuff. It's just a nice tidbit. And uh.....actual sound effects for things that they sometimes translate literally ("smile" or "chuckle" is not a sound effect)
