FMA Liscenced
This is not another post saying it is liscensed. This is just trying to give everyone hope.

There was another anime liscensed recently...Chrno Crusade. Anime Forever still does the subs. Because Sonchou is a break off from Anime Forever there is a chance they will continue subbing.

OR maybe a-keep will decide it isn't worth dropping now.

I HATE CARTOON NETWORK.

I know enough french to understand some stuff but I don't want to keep pausing it so i can run it through my head.
Blutarskyblutarsky on May 11th, 2004 12:56 am (UTC)
I WOULD KILL FOR SUBS *looks around for someone to kill*

I SO hope they continue...!! >__
Kalika Maxwellkalikamaxwell on May 11th, 2004 12:56 am (UTC)
When you think about it, our options are plenty.
1) Hope akeep just keep going.
2) Hope some other group decides to keep going. (sanchou? other?)
3) Turn to a group based outside of USA that still do English subs and beg them to pick it up. (ie SPA)
4) Pick up subs in another language. (ie French)
5) In relation to 4, have people write down scripts from the subs in other languages for the people who only know English. (I'd help. I know French.)

It's OK people. We're going to get through, one way or another.
ミランlinna on May 11th, 2004 12:59 am (UTC)
I was just going to post about that ^^;;; I was going to say that in the event it is legit that it is licensed, we NICELY ASK SPA to pick it up. I seriously doubt AKeep are going to continue. ANBU dropped it after all -___________-
Kathleen: WTF - kimmycatkimmycat on May 11th, 2004 01:00 am (UTC)
ANBU dropped it? Where does it say that?
ミランlinna on May 11th, 2004 01:06 am (UTC)
Well they're not gonna sub if it's licensed so in essence IF it is, they're dropping it.
Kathleen: WTF - kimmycatkimmycat on May 11th, 2004 12:59 am (UTC)
I really hope so.

GOD THE WORLD IS ENDING! IT JUST TOOK ME 4 HOURS TO FIX MY COMP, I HAVE TO STILL BUY A NEW OS I HAVE A PILE OF FRICKEN HOMEWORK AND FMA JUST GOT LISCENCED.

I have no reason to live ;_;
Kalika Maxwellkalikamaxwell on May 11th, 2004 01:04 am (UTC)
*twack* If you die, you'll NEVER know the ending. Hang on here. You can bet the fans are going to find *something*.

Anyway we still be able to download them rigth? It's not the en of the world... ;_;
Kathleenkimmycat on May 11th, 2004 01:02 am (UTC)
Well, we can dl the raws still. I'm 99.9 % sure.

But subs may be hard to come by.
ミランlinna on May 11th, 2004 01:24 am (UTC)
Well regardless of if Funimation picks it up I'm not watching it on Adult Swim. I make it my policy to not watch dubs. Once in a while if I feel like ripping my ears off I'll listen to the dubs just to hear the differences in the character's voices.

After calming down, I realized that "Inuyasha" is still being subbed by AnimeKraze, among other groups.

So, if there's any optimistic outlook, we'll at least be able to see all of FMA somehow.

... since there's no stopping Cartoon Network or stemming the flux of ignorant fangirls and what not that will surely come from it.

After calming down, I realized that "Inuyasha" is still being subbed by AnimeKraze, among other groups.

That's because "InuYasha" at the point they are subtitling isn't liscensed.

Viz, the company that has "InuYasha" can only snag the show by seasons- 26 episodes. 1-26, 27-52, etc.

Right now the highest they could have is up through 128 (although I think they only have through 102.), so anything after that is still fair game for fansubbers.

It's not on animesuki because a part of it is liscensed, but technically more recent episodes (what ani-kraze subs) are still legal to subtitle and release.

However FMA has been bought out for the entire series- so that's not good. >

though i still can't find the Chrno crusade subs i've been looking forever since they stopped it atfter like 12? for me that is.. but yes there is hope and it's good to know..

it's sad to hear anbu dropped it since i loved Anbu subs. I also don't like the CNetwork either.. *sighs*

thanks for the hope it makes me feel better.
ミランlinna on May 11th, 2004 01:07 am (UTC)
AnimeKraize (or something) is still doing CC. AnimeForever too. It was just Anbu who dropped it.
Tashatasha_mac on May 11th, 2004 08:59 am (UTC)
OH MY GOD WHERE IS THAT PICTURE FROM *bites onto pimp-Roy and doesn't leggo*
Hungry Hungry Mongoosenzmongoose on May 11th, 2004 01:05 am (UTC)
For most series I'm willing to accept them being liscenced and stop getting fansubs. But FMA is addicting, 52 episodes is a lot, I despise Funimation, NZ television is too sucky to air something like this even if it becomes Ed the Alchemist ("Can we transmute it? Yes we can!"), and it got liscenced a bit after halfway through the series. I really hope someone continues the fansubs.

At least the manga isn't liscenced, so TW can keep going, even if it's not the fastest pace.

Ed the Alchemist ("Can we transmute it? Yes we can!")

In the midst of my depression, you have made me chuckle.

I salute you. \o/ Thanks, I needed that.

Thanks. The whole situation's depressing me too, so I guess that's just my way of dealing with it.

omg.. Bob the Builder. x_~
ミランlinna on May 11th, 2004 01:14 am (UTC)
That's what I'm concerned about --;;; No offense to TW's but at the rate they're going the manga is gonna get licensed before they get any farther. --;;;; I kinda wish another group would pick up doing the scanlations (like the other groups I forget who picked up HunterxHunter) I'm not bashing TW's because I love their scanlations (whenever they release I dump the other group's scanlations)

Aside from the fans that can read Chinese I think most of us are learning more about the manga through the anime.
Olliesaber_rider on May 11th, 2004 05:18 am (UTC)
If you think this is bad, Gundam SEED got licenced with about five or six episodes left to go. It's not like you couldn't find the new eps subbed, you just needed to know the right people. Bit Torrent is nice, but it's not the end all of distros. Find the right IRC channel, and somebody can probably hook you up. Find somebody who has a few boxes of fansubs (on VHS) sitting around. Chances are, they still know how to find out who has what and how to get it.

I HATE CARTOON NETWORK.

Good for you. It's nice to know that. Really, it is.
