Cosplay help needed
=UPDATED, REVISED, ETC.=

Question for cosplayers who are familar with wigs and such:

I, like many others, am attempting cosplaying as Edward for Otakon. I've looked through WitchWigs since it's been recommended many times but I'm having trouble figureing out which one would the easist and best to style/work with.

These are the choices I narrowed it down to (I was thinking of ordering yellow blond, golden orange, or light golden brown for any of them.):

Ashley 850 (no bangs)

Cher 951

Jesus <-- seems like the best match(since I'd be braiding it), but I'm not quite sure.

Cleo 601 <-- can cut bangs...? Kinda paranoid about it though. =/

Or are there any other suggestions(something under $50ish) Thanks!

And if it helps with color suggestion, here's a photo of me. meep; i hate it. n.n;

THANK YOU! to all who've commented and helped me out a great deal with your comments and suggestions. <3 =)

I'd probably go with the Ashley 850 because the color's close enough, which is the hardest part to get for hair, I think. And it's a suitable length that you could cut it for the bangs.

Go with the Ashley 850. Better to have too much hair and have to cut it than not enough.

Also, for tips on wigs maintenence and styling, I highly recommend this site:

I cannot stress enough the usefulness of Katie Bair.

Good luck!

Get the Ashley, the Cleo is too straight. Since a wig's hair has a built-in curve to it you want something thats going to curve into your face like Ed's bangs do. When you cut the front of the Ashley it'll follow the curve it has now and keep going in towards your face. The Cleo would just hang straight down and be even more straight when you cut it shorter.

You look really familiar. Were you at ConBust?

I've never been to ConBust, so no. But I am usually seen at Anime Expo, Ani-Magic and (once) at Otakon. If not at any of those places, you have a different person. I tend to look like a lot of people. :D;;

Haha. I guess it's clear which one you all believe would do the job best.

Now to go decide which color I want to order(tis available in a bazillion and one colors). Such a headache.

what school? what APs? ::faint::

Anyways, thanks for all your input, guys. ^_^

If you're thinking about paying that much for those, I suggest ya take a peek at this one: http://www.amphigory.com/wigs_enchantment.html

No bangs, long enough (more than enough really) and you can pick from a couple of shades of blonde (though I suggest the golden down at the bottom).

You did notice in that picture that the bangs are the model's, right? The Ashley's color is best, but if you look past the curl of the bangs on top, it looks like it's got kind of a messy front. The way the model's wearing the wig would probably look kinda silly IRL, since the wig's just sitting on her head.

Wigs with no bangs are tricky, tricky. I try to find em with false scalp pieces, that makes it look more natural. But the picture for that wig is a bit deceiving. :T

Yes, I've noticed that the bangs are the model's and they bug the hell out of me.

Sorry to bother you all again, but I've also found Cher 951 to be another option. (and plus there are no icky real bangs to bug me!)

Any objections, warnings, flames..? Compairson to Ashley 850?

Thanks for the other link suggestion (pretty. *_*), but I'm kind of iffy about waiting 1-3 weeks vs 1-3 days. I'm going to be super busy by June so I can't really wait around too long. *bwee* n.n;

Okay, well, on the note of the Cher vs Ashley (where DO they come up with these names?) you still oughta go with the Ashley. The reason being that Ed's hair is naturally more wavy than straight. And though it IS possible to curl a wig, believe me when I say it is a Premium Pain in the Ass. (Just a tip -- curling irons do NOT work. Unless you WANT your hair to be melted.) So I still say go with the Ashley. I think that would work fine.
