So, I know it's quite usual, when fixated on something, to ascribe its traits to every other medium you come across, but I'm reading Frankenstein for my Comparative Lit class, and was greatly amused by a particular section. Especially because I had just finished the thought "Hey, this sounds a bit like Ed!"

anyway, the bit was

I was, to a great degree, self taught with regard to my favourite studies. My father was not scientific, and I was left to struggle with a child's blindness, added to a student's thirst for knowledge. Under the guidance of my new preceptors, I entered with the greatest diligence into the search of the philosopher's stone and the elixir of life

Sorry for the spam. On an episode thirty related note...

I really really don't want to watch Envy make Moofy evil. I love Moofy! He's adorable, if not a little kooky, and it's not his fault he's got Ed's arm and leg, after all.

*steals Moofy and hides him from Teh Ebil*

Save Moofy! Save Moofy!

;.; I don't want him to be made bad. He's so sweet and innocent. He just wants Izumi to be his mommy. Failing that, I'LL adopt him *pets Moofy and gives Envy Teh 3v1l 3y3 of d00m!*

Oh, I really disliked that book. Mostly that the boring parts got so freakishly boring that it made me mad. But there's are some really good moments that pretty awesome. Basic message of my stupid comment: sorry you have to read that book..

omg...Taisa and i(Hagane no) have been watching one of the many frankenstein movies, and we have found so many things that remind us of FMA. his mother dies, and while he did not try to bring her back, he wants her back. alchemy is mentioned in one part, but that isn't very important since he doesn't use it. he has a teacher whom he looks up to. when his teacher dies, he decides to make a human, but it doesn't turn out right, and he abandons it. does that sing FMA or what?

sorry if for some odd reason people get mad about frankenstein spoilers. :D

ps yes, our names and FMA are the only things worthy of capitalization XD

The character of the promethian monster that Dr.Frankenstien created and the Homunculus in FMA are basically the same literary type of characters which leads me to wonder if their father is the same sort of character as the good Doctor. There are several other classical literary themes that seems to be woven into FMA so I wouldnt be surprised if when we find out more about their father he does turn out to be akin to the Doctor.
