This is torture! Wrrryyyyy?!
Why is Viz Media making us wait 3 months between each U.S. release of the manga? That is evil.

I got all excited last night and have been excited up until about 5 minutes ago... I went to Viz' site for the new releases and THOUGHT I was reading that vol. 8 comes out on Jun 18. It actually comes out Jul 18th but me and my sleep deprived eyes thought we saw Jun.

But why so long between each release?

You know, not every bookstore has Vol. 8 yet. I'm not sure how Borders have their copies yet because NO ONE ELSE is gonna have theirs until mid July. And not everyone has a Borders in their town. >.>

I don't even think there are any Borders in Canada and I think with Viz, everything arrives here in Canada months later. I think Vol 1 of Black Cat was released back in February? It never showed up in my neck of the woods until April/May. (Mind, it could've been popularity but all the bookstores I asked were like "Hm. Yeah...we were supposed to have gotten it XX months/days ago but nothing yet" *shrugs*)

Volume 8 might not rear its head until July here either.

Mind, the French ver. of vol. 8 won't come out until September and vol. 9 until November so...

Viz can be very, very random in Canada. I think that the books come in large orders, at least with Chapters stores, so when new volumes of one series come in, they all come in.

Volume 6 of FMA was really late (almost a month or so), but Volume 7 was right on time.

Monster 1 and 2, on the other hand, showed up almost a month early.

this is why I can never, never leave the northeastern seaboard. because even ten years ago when I was desperate to find anime or manga, all it meant was an hour's trip to NYC to find what I was looking for. Sure, not in my town, but relatively close.

now, I'm down in MD and fortunately, the Borders in Columbia (which is smack dab between Baltimore and DC) has a large manga section, and, as someone else pointed out, they must be stocking their shelves as soon as they get their shipments in as there is no penalty imposed by the publisher for distributing the books early.

and, when i can't find things, then I just be patient and order them online . . . gives me something to look forward to in the mail (as in, getting something other than bills!).

and, if it's really, really killing you, there's always scantilations . . .
