Must be a Night for AMVs...

... Because I have one to add to the collection that's been posted here.

Remember this post?

Well, I actually sent Vic the link to the AMV. Hope he doesn't mind that I shared this with y'all.

Hi Lorrie!

WOW!!! now THAT's what I'm talkin about! A ton of great ideas there! I loved it! I do have just a few small tweaks that I think might make it more powerful, but I am blown away! Not many people have a good sense of what images work with what music...but you sure do!

thanks again!

vic

Which thrilled me to death XD (Yes, I acted all fangrrlly for a little bit, deal)

After I got over my shock, I emailed him back and asked him what tweaks he suggested.

The only couple things that I think might be a good change would be these:

1. Make sure that the cuts, especially going into big transitions like the choruses, etc, are right on the beat. This will strengthen the impact. Of course, the cuts not matching the music may have been a UTube thing.

2. I LOVE what you did with the verses...very haunting and reflective...slow moving flashback kinda stuff. But I think that in the choruses the cutting should pick up speed, and the clips should be of fast action... Ed fighting all different bady guys, homunculus, lots of movement Basically, all that he has gone through to get their bodies back.

Those were the main two things that I think might make it better. But it's already so great!

Sooooooooooo.... I followed his advice, and this is the result.

Remember, YouTube kills some of the more subtle effects, like the scratches and speckles on the old film filter. *sigh*

I decided to go for intensifying the action with each chorus transition, plus I tightened up the timing and the transitions between clips.

36 hours of tweaking later, and I think I broke my brain. But I think it turned out pretty good. What do you guys think?

And I don't know if it's my crappy program, or the system in general, but I cannot get the AMV rendered in a Quicktime Format (trust me, there is a good reason I want to). If anyone has a suggestion of what I can use to convert MPEG-4 (which seems to be the ONLY format Ulead VideoStudio 8 will render), I'm all ears!

Comments are welcome. I want to know what's wrong with it, as well as what's good about it.

EDIT: -.-;; Test run of the AMV on YouTube knocks the timing a couple frames off-kilter. If you want to see a MUCH better version, let me know and I'll Make it available for download.

EDIT: (again) Download on YSI

Sorry guys, it was after 4am when I originally posted this.
