I'm such a geek.
So, yea. A friend of mine said "Here, I have some leftover henna [skin dye], take it." So I did. And then me and the Falc got bored and yea.

If I get really bored, I might play with my camera and the mirror and take pictures of the Ed jacket my friend made me. I love it so much. (If by the rare chance any of you see someone randomly wearing an Ed jacket in College Station (whatever the weather) it's probably me.)

That is the coolest henna ever =D And I'd totally like to see that Ed jacket and I wish one of my friends would make one for me, bah

I think I'll wear it tonight to my friend's party and get the Falc to snap a picture for me. I don't think the mirror will do it much justice.

The fun part with the henna was that people never noticed it right away, like they do with my back-of-the-hand henna. So occasionally I'd have a friend go "That's so cool!" after me flashing my hand around for a full week. I forgot about it a couple times and had to be reminded. Including by my Mom, who thought I'd converted to Satanism. My brother thought it was funny.

Ha xD That "flashing it around for a week" sounds like my friends. I put an ouroboros on my shoulder in lipliner um and no one noticed it for the longest time.

If I got henna, I would put the ouroburos on the back of my left hand XD *can't help loving Greed*

Your henna turned out good. Last time I tried with an at home kit, it wasn't as vibrant. And then I got it done at a school festival once and it smelled like tobacco forever!

The Ouroboros is definitely an awesome tattoo. And I wish I could randomly wear my Ed jacket...

Well, henna always takes better on thick skin (palms and the soles of the feet, namely). Most of the at-home kits have preservatives in the henna as it goes bad after a few weeks no matter how well you keep it. The henna I used was a batch made by my friend, who does henna semi-professionally and mixes the henna with either lavender or tea tree oil. Fresh, well mixed henna will lead to it taking better in the skin.

And that concludes today's lesson on henna.

Hennas are so much fun.

I had a couple of Kimblee ones a couple of weeks ago, and they've faded away completely only recently.

Before that i had a Flamel and a Envy henna for my Envy cosplay

Good idea on putting it on the palm of your hand, it shows up the best there. My Kimblee symbol on my left was literally black for a really long time.

One of my hobbies is doing the entirity of the soles of my feet in henna...it stays this wicked black color FOREVER...and people ask you what happened to your foot. Absolutely hilarious.

That looks AWESOME!! Where did your friend get the henna? I'm cosplaying Pride!Ed at Akon next month, and that would be PERFECT for Pride's smexy tattoos. XP Thanks!!
Foxskullfaced on May 26th, 2006 07:55 am (UTC)
She buys the henna powder online and then mixes it herself with lavender and tea tree oils. I'm pretty sure you can find sites on how to do that online somewhere...I have several friends who do henna as a hobby. I don't recommend the pre-mixed stuff, you don't get near the quality.

And you're going to A-kon in Dallas? :D I /should/ be there...if I still have my spot in the room...gah.
edo_fangirledo_fangirl on May 26th, 2006 04:27 pm (UTC)
Thanks! I will look around the net to see if I can find some...

Oh oh, let me know where you're at, my friend ky0li and I will be sure to drop by your table. It'll be our first con, we're really looking forward to it! *grins*
Foxskullfaced on May 26th, 2006 04:58 pm (UTC)
My spot in the hotel room...I'm not dealing for this con, though I wish I was *sniffs* I shouldn't be too hard to find, I'm usually one of the few (if not the only) skinny Eds at A-kon.
edo_fangirledo_fangirl on May 26th, 2006 05:02 pm (UTC)
My friend and I are too poor to actually stay at the Adams Mark, so we're staying at a hotel less than a mile away (for a good $100 cheaper per night!!)...so we have more $$ to spend at the con.

LMAO "Fat" Edos...*shakes head* I'm going as Pride!Ed, and I'm 5'2" at 120 lbs, so hopefully I won't embarrass myself with my costume. ^^; I've been working really hard to get into shape lately, so we'll see...Are you going as Ed, in your coat and all? I'll definitely have to find you for a photo shoot! XP
Foxskullfaced on May 26th, 2006 07:06 pm (UTC)
I'll be going as Ed with coat, black pants, boots, gloves (which are usually off since I'm paranoid about wearing white), and one of my plain black tank tops. Probably just one day as Ed, since wearing closed toed shoes drives my feet crazy. I shouldn't be hard to spot anyway, since I'm likely the only Ed in the universe who wears a dog tooth with a little bell around my neck. (I remove most of the rest of my copious amount of jewelery, but the dog tooth never comes off for personal reasons.)

Yea, I'm 5'4" at about 130, so we're about the same build. I know its hard to find big anime characters, but sometimes you gotta draw the line...Ed is, well, /short/.

And I have no clue which hotel I'm at since Kim got the room and I'm just hoping she has enough floor space for me to curl up in for a few hours...

My friend and I plan on cosplaying on Saturday, isn't that the day of the contests and such? Hopefully I will see you there! *squeals* God, I am soooo excited about my first con, I can't wait! :3
