Qing(Xing) costume
Hello all,

Being inspired by shadrad's picture of Ling in traditional dress, I wanted to draw Ran Fan and Mei Chan in robes as well. So far, I am having no luck finding Qing dynasty costumes. I can find Han, no problem, but finding something other then the a-typical chinese dress is proving very difficult. I was wondering if someone could help me with finding imperial dress for women that isn't the Dowager's outfit.

If this doesn't apply to FMA, feel free to take it down. I don't think this needs a cut though. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wearer of the viking hat,

I know relatively nothing about chinese (Subsequently Xingese) culture, so I'm afraid I may not be of much help.

For reference on a picture I drew of Mei, I used stock photos from this model- http://angelcurioso.deviantart.com/ -and the only dynasty she ever specified for her costumes was "Tang". The other traditional chinese costumes she just refers to as "Dynasty". That's all I can provide for now.

A google search on "Qing costume" brings up a few decent pictures here and there."

There's http://www.chinastyle.cn/clothing/qing-style.htm if you want information on what Ling probably wore. Ran Fan was a servant, so her clothes are probably simplier(but then again, she's obviously favored by Ling, so I guess leeway can be taken there. 8D).
Mei chan's clothes will not be found on that page. I wanna say she's Uyghur, but I'm not too well-versed in the traditional garb of the minority groups. (Heck, I'm not well-versed at any traditional garb)

It might be worth asking for help on little_details - they're great for all sorts of reference questions.
