I'm going to bring this up now for the record.

Ignoring the fact that ZOMG RIZA CAN SHOOT FIRE FROM HER SPINE BECAUSE ROY LIEK TOTALLY LURVES HER, that image on Hawkeye's back looks an awful lot like the sigils Ed saw at the ruins of Xerxes.

...the ruins that got that way because of Kool and The Gang the homunculi. So. Here comes my crazy idea.

Riza might be Pride?

Discuss. Bitchslap me. Whatever. I said it.

EDIT: Never called it an Oroborus, kids. Chill. xD

Riza can't be Pride, because Pride is hundreds of years old (I can't remember exactly) and Riza has a canon grandpa. I won't repeat all the other evidence against it.

I think that its either a way to show her extreme loyalty to Roy, or she could be some sort of "secret weapon". It would fit more with her character, at least.

But, with all the Ishvar references in this chapter, I suspect that we're going to be pulled into another few flashback chapters. The tattoo might just be a plot device to make the transition a little easier. (aka, if the flashback starts with ch58, it may begin with Riza actually getting the tattoo in the first place, with its meaning revealed gradually.)

When you say 'secret weapon' it makes me think she and Roy can combine to form some kind of ultra powerful fighting robot XDDD

I hope we get a flashback, I crave Ishbal flashbacks like drugs...if I did them XD

If that's what came to your head when I said 'secret weapon', then you can only imagine what I thought when you said 'combine to form some kind of ultra powerful fighting robot'.

My Al muse is going to need therapy by the time that particular image leaves my head. And an air freshener.

Anyway, Arakawa has been dangling a long overdue full flashback just out of our reach ever since Chapter 7. Ed and Al have gotten theirs a long time ago, so I believe it is about time that Roy got his (along with the rest of the military characters, of course).

I keep thinking that maybe Roy gave her the tattoo himself. If Arakawa actually draws that, I will be cursed with a lecherous grin for the rest of my life.
