WARNING! Huge spoilers of doom ensue.

The tatoo on Hawkeye's back, can anyone get the text? I know it's in Latin, and that the first word is "liberei" which means "children" *takes Latin cuz she's just that cool* But if anyone can scavenge the rest (that isn't killed by the scar on her back) I would rush off to translate it! So any help would be great!

I take Latin too; "liberei" was the only word I recognized. I could've sworn I saw "quack" on there though, "halo" too.

Hm... could be, but at this angle it looks like children, but of couse this angle sucks if you trying to figure out what it means. But I thought I may have seen 'pater' later in the same group, so children would seem to fit.

Nice. You take latin too? I didn't even notice it.

Great...Now i'll have to go stare at it some more...
rukushorukusho on March 10th, 2006 04:58 am (UTC)
It looks like 'Liber et' at the top of the array to me so 'Free and...'

It would rock hard (in a funny sort of way) if it was Lorem Ipsum.

...Anyway, I found "ego" :D

I don't think so, this is probably going to be crucial information in the future, and a frustrating because the scars are going to keep them from figuring it out.

i cant see how you can make that out with human eyes...*squint* I need specks...I dont take latin, but does anyone think that that looks like Roys Transmutation Circle?...
eurogabbyeurogabby on March 10th, 2006 11:23 am (UTC)
It IS his transmutation circle, to the letter.

X3 I'm also a Latin student, and I soon as I finish my work I'll be rushing off to school. I could probably get my teacher to translate it if all the text can be found and put in order.

I played with the image in photoshop, upping the res to 1600 pixels, rotated the image right-side up, and still . . . most of it is illegaible. maybe if there were some big, fat RAWs out there it might be a little more legible, but, alot of it seems to be the same words repeated over and over and over again, along with some scribbles.

well I'm more interested in the tatoo and the ramifications of what it may mean. I don't know if you noticed but there's the inverted caduceus behind the fire array.

From the legend the Caduceus was giving to Hermes by his brother Apollo. Hermes is the messanger god of the gods but he's also a refenrence for Alchemy because Alchemy is also refered as Hermetic studies.

Also that tatoo made me think about this legend of a Seer ( ican't remember who he was a seer for ) Who say two entwinded serpent mating and seperated them with a staff. He was transformed into a woman for 7 years. To be retransformed once agan as a man when he was able to reproduce the same act.

I'll let you guy mull over that one....

Just to let you know also that to make a Philosopher stone... there's a lot of references to an hermaphrodite...

Her array is broken... see the scars? Was she an alchemist? or was she experimented on?

I first though when I saw her in the shower that Arakawa-sensei would drop something big... I get the feeling it's BIG alright. But she'll tell us in good time. It's just a theory from my part. I might be seening too much into this.

There are no scars... That's her back and shoulder blades. -_-

It's Roy's version of a hickey.

Roy could just draw over the scars. -____-

Or maybe it's perpously incomplete... so she can't use it yet.
