i actually like the way you did the shoulder i believe any other way may appear a bit unnatural as with a true profile shot the shoulder may simply blend in with the arm/neck.

Yes the shoulder is a bit odd, but they're hard to draw from that angle...I shouldn't be saying anything, I can never get them either. Love how the face came out, and the hair, it's all perfect. ^^ Great job.

It looks very nice, though the hair is a tad flat; it lacks depth. I'm fond of merging anime and realism, since I can't cartoon worth crap, and I'm much stronger in realistic styles. It's mostly the issue with solid lines versus soft shading. I can't draw straight lines worth crap.

As an ex-blonde who is a red-head by choice, I'd just like to comment on drawing blonde hair in b/w. One of the reasons the hair seems to have no depth is because the tone you've got there is about the tone of a white blonde. Ed's about a medium blonde so he'd actually have a ton of darker highlights in his hair. Even a white blonde would have more shadows.

My only thought on the shoulder would be more shadow in the back. You'd probably also be able to see a bit of the shoulderblade by that angle on his back.

The lips are very nice, though.

Are you just using a #2 pencil?

Yep. I have a 4B, 4H, and 6B but I don't use them. ^^;;;

Thanks for the crit. The major problem areas are the hair and shoulder. .__.;;;

The reason I asked about the pencils is because it looks like you smudged to get the shading. Try using the different lead hardnesses to get the different shadings and you can get a lot more control.

I don't do a lot of drawing anymore, but my teacher used to get so angry at me when I "cheated" by smudging.

Oh. Oops.

Thanks for the tip!

Drawing shoulders on the profile is the bane of my existence. I think you did fine. ^_^
