The English Alchemist (Part II)
From the overwhelming response I got to the first installment of the highly amusing English phrase book I posted last week, I gathered that you want me to keep scanning. (Good grief, I wish my fiction got that much attention...can't compete with canon scans, though. ^_^) And so, I bring you, scanned and translated where necessary...the second installment of The English Alchemist!

*grins* That was a favorite of mine, too. Some of these are so clever...

Frangible is a word? o_O;;
ex_mikazuki336 on November 20th, 2005 04:17 pm (UTC)
Sure is. Means "easily breakable".

Not exactly everyday English.. XD

Thank you so much for these. They crack me right up.

Poor Ed would probably hate them though. Constant mentions of his height and immaturity level...

I'd like the show MORE if he had the Afro!

Yeah, for a lesson "taught by" Ed, it's awfully derogatory, isn't it? My theory is that Roy actually taught Ed's lesson, and Ed got him back by teaching Roy's lesson...wait till I post that, he gets ripped a new one. XD

Hohenhiem and Trisha loved each other very much, and Ed and Al were born as a result.

Am I the only one who finds that infinatly amusing? *crickets churp* Guess so...

It's the subtle japanese way to teach us about the birds and the bees.

If Ed's natural hairstyle were an Afro, the show probaby wouldn't be this popular.

Sure it would!

He transformed Greed's high-hardness, ablation-resistant body into a frangible substance.

I live how most English-speaking people wouldn't understand this sentence AT ALL.

Hohenheim and Trisha loved each other very much, and Ed and Al were born as a result.

HELLO BIRDS AND BEES.

Wow, spoilers abound in that too... (Perhaps you should give end-of-series spoiler warning on these...)

Heeeee, Frangible... They can't get this 100% perfect, I guess XD

Neither Ed nor Envy can show his true feelings towards their father
I totally read that as:
Neither Ed nor Envy can show their true feelings for one another

P.S. I made an icon. *points to her icon* XD;
