FMA hitting the UK!!
I don't think this is been posted before, but great news for UK FMA fans like me! There's a new Sky channel starting on November 14th called Rapture TV on channel 205, and according to the forums (http://www.rapturetv.net/forums.html), it says:

"The two Animes are...

- Wolf's Rain (Thursday, 20:30)
- Full Metal Alchemist (Tuesday, 20:30)"

I really hope this is true, and they won't change it, 'cause that means that hopefully more anime will be available to watch in the UK, and I'll finally be able to watch FMA on TV! ^_^

*IMPORTANT EDIT!!!*

According to the Wiki page, found here, Rapture TV will not be available on cable. I really hope this isn't the case, since I want as many people as possible to watch FMA in the UK to gain it's popularity here. Maybe it'll come on cable a little later, depending on it's popularity. I really don't know right now. Sorry folks ^^;

Ahh, nice! By any chance will that channel be on freeview? Probably not... but it's annoying, as I don't have Sky here at uni. ;__;

Aww damn. I know it's a free channel, so there's a chance it'll be on Freeview. I hope it is tho'! Then you can watch it too! ^_^

Hee, indeed. I've seen it all subbed, but I really want to see the dub. >.> I've only heard clips of it, but it sounds quite good, so... :D
angelblessangelbless on November 2nd, 2005 06:38 pm (UTC)
The dub's brilliant!!! I've fallen in love with it!! ^__^ I love the sub, too, but it doesn't have Vic in it ^^; If I find anything out, I'll edit the post with more info.

Ah, I'll have to watch out for that. The Wolf's Rain dub is actually pretty good...though I think I'll stick to the originals. The FMA dub makes kittens die. Nevertheless, hooray for anime on TV.

The FMA dub makes kittens die? Well then, I guess I've killed a million kittens by loving it to much! ^^; I can't wait to see Wolf's Rain either! ^^

*Crosses fingers and prays it's available on telewest/cable* I've already seen all of Wolf's Rain but HOLY HELL o_o This means I don't have to keep buying DVD's I can't really afford!

^^ Yay for TV convenience! I hope they'll have it on as many systems (or whatever you call Sky and cable and all that) as possible! I think people in the UK are getting the message that good anime is loved here! *dances*

Crispin Freeman makes the Wolf's Ran dub really good.

:: stares at all the dead kitties :: :'(

Yeah, we need to sort that out. Al's getting traumatised by all the dead kittens - -;;;

What about those poor suckers like me who don't have digital or Sky?

*curls up in the corner and cries*
angelblessangelbless on November 2nd, 2005 08:18 pm (UTC)
Pray for a miracle? ^^; I wish I could lend them to you when I tape them, but that'd probably be hard to do T.T Do you have any friends that would be willing to record it for you? And please don't cry! *pulls you out of the corner and hugs you*

Nah, I don't know anyone else who likes FMA (though I'm trying to convert some of my MSN buddies XD) so the only option for me is to import the dvds from the US.
angelblessangelbless on November 2nd, 2005 08:33 pm (UTC)
Well, they're selling the first 2 DVDs here now, but it'll take ages to release the others T.T I think it's worth it, tho', 'cause people'll take the hint that FMA's loved here.

Keep converting everyone! You know it's worth it! *grins at all the people I've converted*

Amazon.co.uk say that the 3rd dvd is out at the start of December, but then again they said the 2nd was out June/July and it didn't get released til September, and not only that, but we don't get the easter eggs etc that the R1 version has.

It's really annoying trying to find any official merch. as well. I've only found 3/4 shops that sell the dvds, and only 1 that sells other stuff, while I've had no luck finding the manga anywhere.
angelblessangelbless on November 3rd, 2005 06:13 pm (UTC)
The manga isn't sold here. Apparently, Viz hate selling their products in the UK *goes off and mopes*
Abi "animation-obsessed" Burtonsaft on November 4th, 2005 06:15 pm (UTC)
Why don't you try places like Forbidden Planet and Travelling Man ;) I've been getting my FMA manga from there! Travelling Man also sells other merchandise like the FMA Fanbooks, Figures and shirts and you can also order online from there as well. Luckily I don't live too far away from one of their stores, They're all over...Leeds/London/York/Manchester/Newcastle.

Bah - Shame about FMA not coming on cable. Oh well...maybe it'll show up on one of the free channels we get every other month?

Also - I actually prefer Steve Blum in Wolf's Rain ;) He made such a kick-ass Darcia.

Aww, if only I had a TV. xp

*Continues merrily hoarding R1 DVDs*
