I had gotten up and was preparing to leave when Ling heard something and stopped me. "Wait Ed."

Whoever was approaching us wasn't panicked at all and you didn't hear screaming for help. "Well, well, well... I thought this might be it when I saw the light."

Envy came out from the gloom with a bold stride, "So it's you guys."

The only thing I could think about was getting out of here; I knew Alphonse would be worried about me since I disappeared. I heard Ling say, "It is Envy." But all I could think about was finding the exit and getting the hell out of here so I could reassure Al and then I might even be able to confess my feelings for Ling.

"Please tell us the exit!" I practically begged for Envy to tell me. All I saw in my mind was Alphonse all alone even though I knew he wouldn't just sit down and stay in the forest forever. He would probably continue looking for me no matter how hopeless it was, and I would die of guilt if I put Al through somethign like that.

Ling couldn't believe I had asked Envy like that and even commented on what I said. All I could say to that was it's how humans survive, and when I thought about it; it was true. Humans will do anything to survive, while I was no different I figured if only one person could get out alive I would make sure it was Ling. Having an entire country depending on him; I couldn't let him die and let all those people down for my own selfish wants.

Envy cut both of us off with a statement that almost made my heart stop. "There is no exit."

I tried to pretend I didn't hear him say that as he continued talking Ling figured we really are inside Gluttony's stomach. This whole situation sounded more and more hopeless as Envy went on. Then I spoke again to get my own thoughts out.

"Come to think of it, at the moment I was swallowed by Gluttony... I sensed that somewhere before..."

Envy looked at me with solemn disbelief I might've forgotten, "You remember, don't you? You've experienced it in the past."

I contemplated what he was saying for a moment and then saw the giant eye that had appeared in Gluttony's stomach in my own mind's eye. Realizing exactly where this place was; I couldn't contain the shock in my voice.

"The Doors of Truth...!!"

I hope this one wasn't too repetitive, or badly written. (I honestly didin't think of this as one of my best works and promise chapter 3 will be much better!)
