Movie Spoiler Questions

I have a few questions about Heiderich:
1.) I believe the summary mentioned that Heiderich was ill in the movie. Is it ever said what he has, or do we see any symptoms of this, or did one of my own fic details mutate into canon on me again?

2.) Do we ever get to see anything about Ed or Heiderich's living arrangements in Munich? Does Heiderich have any family mentioned?

3.) Does Heiderich have a job in canon, and if not is there a possibility he could?

1) Heiderich more than likely has TB, as he was hacking blood and stuff. TB's usually the cause of such symptoms.

2) Ed and Heiderich live in a flat about alter!Gracia's flower shop. I don't think any family for him is ever mentioned.

3) Heiderich's a researcher with a sponsor. That's about it.

*above alter!Gracia's shop *headdesk* I'm drugged up from wisdom teeth surgery right now, forgive.

*Pets* I forgive. I had to have one of my wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago (and it had cracked) so I can sympathize. And thanks for the info. ^_^ (I will note that TB wasn't very common in Munich in 1923. Outbreaks, as soon as they were diagnosed, were quarentined in sanitariums to prevent the spread. Same with typhus. If he never saw a doctor for his condition it could work, but I will also note that there were several unnamed diseased in Germany during the time period that medical researchers theorize may have been manufactured in a kind of early biological warfare. But I'm probably just thinking too hard. :P)

Did not know that, that's really interesting info! Could have been lung cancer-ish-ness then. It had resperatory symptoms that involved coughing blood, at the very least, and tumors often hemmorrage.

I knew about the coughing, which had me thinking about childhood rheumatic fever (which at the time caused permenant heart damage, which was the cause for a cough), but it wouldn't have included coughing up blood. (Not often, anyway. Any kind of permenant cough can lead to ruptured vessels in the lungs, which will cause bleeding in the lungs.) Although cracking open ye olde medical book, apparently coughing up blood can be a sign of advanced heart failure, but it manifests more pinkish and mixed with...other stuff than being red. Huh. Bleeding and clotting disorders can cause bleeding in the lungs and lead to coughing up blood as well. Maybe poor Heiderich is a hemophiliac.

Hmm, could be, but he wanted to accomplish something in rocketry before he died. His illness was terminal, as far as I know.

Yeah, I'd lean more toward TB or heart failure in that case again. Or one of the unnamed diseases that were floating around Germany. *Sigh* So sad. Ed x Heiderich: OMGtheirloveissoTRAGIC. ;_;

Indeed T.T
Mari: Al's Amazement - angiechowkaitou_marina on August 29th, 2005 06:44 pm (UTC)
Erk, and I was wrong, apparently Heiderich's gots parents, he's not German by birth, and is more likely Austrian or Romanian.
Mari: Falling Behind - angiechowkaitou_marina on August 29th, 2005 06:45 pm (UTC)
And his sponsor is Hess in the movie XDDDDDDDDDD
A Guy Named Goo: Ed/Al Courage by hehehefunnyaguynamedgoo on August 29th, 2005 06:53 pm (UTC)
Ick, I really need to find that summary again (or, you know, wait until I see the damn movie to write about it). Really, I don't need half of these details. I am just covering my bases in case anything comes up about it in what I'm writing (it's a one shot, and smut no less, so you'd think little would come up). Who is Hess again? *Headdesk*
Mari: Bedroom Eyes - squirramakaitou_marina on August 29th, 2005 07:00 pm (UTC)
Rudolf Hess, Nazi dude.

http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/biographies/hess-bio.htm

Though, I imagine his character is a bit different in the movie though. I haven't actually seen it, I just have informants XD
A Guy Named Goo: Ed/Al See Each Other by papercut917aguynamedgoo on August 29th, 2005 07:02 pm (UTC)
D'oh, that Hess. I was thinking it was a fictional person with the same name. *Headdesk* I blame the Hellsing manga and the Meredith Gentry books for making it impossible for me to think about WWII in any factual sense. Someday I am going to be watching the History Channel and I will start screaming about the lack of vampires and faeries in their account of the war.
Mari: Al's Amazement - angiechowkaitou_marina on August 29th, 2005 07:12 pm (UTC)
AHAHA! I'm to the point now where I watch the History Channel and there's a documentary about Claus von Stauffenberg and I'm like "ZOMG IT'S ROY'S ALTER!"

Because, really, he is XD
Kalan van Lichensteinroflskate on August 29th, 2005 07:45 pm (UTC)
But... Alter!Roy was Hitler. It's so obvious!

::is shot::

Huh?

*nodnod* That was probably the same one I saw XDDDDDDDDD
Blutarskyblutarsky on August 29th, 2005 08:57 pm (UTC)
Huh? You serious? They don't look alike at all... Although they both are cononel's, lost an eye (Claus also an arm) and tried to stop the fruher. Only Claus didn't succeed in killing Hitler and was executed. Is Claus shown in the movie for a short while?
Blutarskyblutarsky on August 29th, 2005 08:58 pm (UTC)
Ugh I meant colonel
Mari: Harem - shuurinkaitou_marina on August 29th, 2005 09:30 pm (UTC)
No, he isn't, but I thought the coincidences were quite remarkable.

As for looking like him...:

I think there are some resemblances ^.^
madwithinsanitymadwithinsanity on August 29th, 2005 10:40 pm (UTC)
hmmm yes well he does have that "I'll be on top one day-ish" look
Blutarskyblutarsky on August 30th, 2005 08:55 am (UTC)
Mmm... I still think Roy has to be at least part asian because of his small eyes and round face if he where compared to a real person... But that's my opinion. I wonder how they show him in the movie and for how long...
Lauratavella on August 30th, 2005 06:55 am (UTC)
Hmm, those details are damn interesting. I wonder if Arakawa had him in mind?
