Cosplay help?
I looked through the memories, and couldn't find anything except references from last year that have dead links, so... look behind the cut to save space. XD;;

Okay, so for Animefest this year, I'm cosplaying human!Al, but with a different-type of outfit. I'm wanting to do Ed's coat, except with no sleeves. I need a certain type of pattern, not too thick or too thin. Does anyone have recommendations? I'm looking for a hooded pattern and a collar-pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ^^

I'm not so sure the raglan sleeves on the pattern listed above would be good for making a coat with no sleeves. I prefer modifying McCall's M4470 for my own Ed coats. I add length, lining, and a seam/split up the back piece (requires adding some seam allowance but really that's easy). It seems to be a less popular pattern choice, but it's turned out well for me multiple times.

I suggest this one New Look 6320. http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=6320

I havent used it yet, but it has set-in sleeves, pockets, a hood, and a back seam that makes it easier to put the vent in. Plus it's cheap! *thumbs up*
