Just a little question... In episode 9 when Ed and Al get to the city where the coal mine is, there's a girl who can do alchemy. What's her name? It sounds like Lyla, but I want to be sure about that.

Thanks ^_^

haven't seen ep 9 yet but in the manga there isn't a girl when they go to the coal mines...there's a boy about their age? but no girl who can do alchemy...

If memory serves...

btw where did you get the raw?

Re: hmmmm
Yeah, there's a little boy, the son of the innkeeper. There's also this Yoki guy, who controls the city. He works for the military. And there's a girl who helps him that wants to become a State Alchemist. Maybe it's different from the manga. I don't know...

I got the raw from a friend.

Re: hmmmm
ya its different...

There is just the inn keeper's son? (wasn't too clear who the kid is in the manga have to sit and reread the introduction)...the whole chapter in the manga is kinda lighthearted.

***Spoiler for manga***
The pair arrive in a coal mining town where the coalmines are controlled by some government jerks. The people try to swindle Ed and Al by making lodging and food super expensive (the reason behind this is that they don't get many vistors? and are broke because the government guys keep all the profits from the coalmines). When they find out they are alchemists they are excited but when they find out Ed is a 'government dog' they kick Ed out. Plot continues and Ed winds up tricking the government guys into selling him back the coal mines (by using transmuted gold to buy back the mines which Ed later reverses) and then Ed uses the deed to pay for his lodging, thus giving the coal mines back to the townspeople.

that's about all I remember...

Re: hmmmm
Yeah, it's pretty much the same...
***SPOILERS ep. 9***
But here, there's a girl who helps the jerk who is in charge of the town, doing alchemy. And she blows the inn up using alchemy, almost killing the son of the innkeeper. But Al saves him. After that, Ed tricks the guy into selling him the coal mines (using a lot of coal and some gold coins he makes the coal look like gold) and then he sells it back to the innkeeper in exchange of rooms and food for a night. Then the military people try to get the deed back when they find out they've been tricked. And said girl tries to blow the ('newly' transmuted xD) inn up again/hurt the people using alchemy, but Ed beats her. I guess she didn't appear in the manga, then...

Re: hmmmm
well the inn does get blown up/burnt to the ground? but the government guys do that...and in the end, the townspeople beat the crud outta the military guys...I really never did understand that chapter...it was kinda filler in the manga

The best was in the manga when Ed starts to transmute the coal he turns around to Al and says "I'm going to break the law a little so pretnend you're not looking" and Al responds with "So you're saying you want me to be an accomplice"...that line just struck me as funny

Re: hmmmm
Yeah, that happens here too xD But I don't remember Al saying that accomplice thing. It was fun though. About being a filler... it seems part of the plot of this thing is that Mustang is being promoted to Colonel and since he will be in charge of more things, he's going to be sent to the East (where this town is). He talks about it like being demoted, since he has to leave Central City. When they get the report from Ed, and they learn that he is going to be the supervisor of the coal mines and that he is going to keep an eye on the military people as well, Mustang says that they can be relaxed now even if they have to be transferred.

Re: hmmmm
oooh that's right he's a promotion hog...I don't like the way they are going with Mustang...I think they are making him a bit too evil?
