The FMA Pocket Watch
hehe, i just bought one. ^^ actually when i went to our local anime store which is a long commute from where i live, i really intended to buy any of the ost's which i was more confident of being available. then it turns out it wasn't, and it's the pocketwatch thing (which i had only been pining for last night) that actually turns up! XD i didn't really expect it to be there, i thought i had to go through online shopping to get it! XD

anyway, i'm just wondering for anyone else who bought it, i got a teensy little problem ^^U ... how do you change the batteries when they run out? or will the smiths be in charge of that?

much arigatous to anyone who can reply. -.- *bows*

BTW, if this is an inappropriate entry, please tell me what to do and delete this or whatsoever.

Find a small, thin, flathead screwdriver, and pop the back off. Be careful, though, you can scratch the finish off sometimes.

ah, so it really is the back huh. yipe, i really should tell the watchperson to be extra careful! >_< (kept staring at the clock face as a possibility.)
hey, THANKS for replying! :D

then the watch is battery-operated?

..dang. i was looking for the wind-y kind.

wow, if it would be that way wouldn't it be a LOT more expensive? o.O
(or i just have a wrong perception of things... ^^;)
hagane_no_mame on June 20th, 2005 01:43 pm (UTC)
Well in the anime Edo did say it was automatic...

You are now officaly a State Alchemist, Welcome! I got mine earlier this month, and I love it to death. Though I'm alittle leery about taking it outside with me (can't have anything happening to it....OMG there's a spec of dust!!!!111!!11)

ahahha! XD it's so cool isn't it? XD yes that was a stupid question! it was neat cos even my sister who's disinterested with anime was all "ooooh" and wanted to show it to her anime friend XD
i think it'll be my new watch haha! for a while maybe. and the thing about it too is that this is old fashioned... watch carrying. XD (i have no idea what the term should be, gomen ^^; ...maybe watch wearing, hehe)
i saw a package somewhere that costs around $170 and it has the Alchemist Certificate thing... er, i don't think i can go that far... hundred bucks!?!

hahaha! it'd be more like a PR thing actually. ;) hopefully. FMA's not famous 'round these parts. -.- i must SPREAD! only popular ones here are those shown and dubbed locally, FMA hasn't seen the light of the local day yet cos of the graphic nature i presume. BUT, i'm slowly affecting people. >D

(i loved it when Ed waved/swung the thing around in the third OP XD)
kiida_ne on June 20th, 2005 09:23 am (UTC)
Wow, that is expensive! Though....I would probably end up buying it anyway just so I could wave it around and be all 'lookit me! I'm Special!'

So since your going to be using it like a normal watch, are you going to strt holding it up to people everytime you go to a hotel or reteraunt?

heh, and then when they come out with the redone models *because those have the manufacturer's error of 11'' instead of 10* you get to buy it again! ^_^

no no, look at the date. It says 11'' as the year. In the anime and manga, it says 10 as the year. ^_^
the idle blue ronin ٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶smea_chan on June 20th, 2005 09:13 am (UTC)

kiida_ne on June 20th, 2005 09:14 am (UTC)

non non, apparently it IS 10 in the manga. *shrug* whatever. A pocketwatch is still a pocketwatch! ^_^
Marikaitou_marina on June 20th, 2005 01:46 pm (UTC)
No. It's 11 in the manga. They changed it for the anime.
