For Your Entertainment--
A fandub (radio fandub?) of the gag episode previews that come as extras/easter eggs on the Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs. For now, I have done the previews for episodes 14 and 15, though I hope to have more soon.

Keep in mind these are fandubbed, so they don't have the english VAs that are used in the FUNimation dub. Also, I casted with little knowledge of the official dub voices, so based my casting decisions a lot on the original voices and a bit on what I think the characters SHOULD sound like. XD

Anyway, more info and the download link can be found here:

And feedback in any form and of any nature is always appreciated!

Cheers!

The voices were so good it gave me chills. That was one hell of a great job. ^_^ Now if only the actual dub was done that well...

oh.
my.
fekk.

that was the funniest thing i have ever heard.

i kid you not.

that guy should have been cast as roy. i love travis to death.... but he doesn't have the smoothness in his voice that this guy does.

tell them all they owned at this... tempted to burn this and take it to akon and show the real guys........

Wow, that's pretty good! I kind of got confused because Ed and Al's voices were similar though.

........ o_O

Wow, you guys are giving this a lot more praise than I'd expect. I admit, Rose and Al sounded very nice, but Ed and Roy sounded a bit.....odd. Their acting seemed rather forced, especially Roy's. And I kept getting this image of a male prostitute in drag.........that's what he sounded like to me. ._.'

And I don't care how much that guy sounds like Paku Romi. It sounds weird for me when I know that Ed is 15 and he sounds like a slightly-constipated 12-year-old. I like Paku Romi's Ed, but I like Vic's Ed equally, so I can't really say this was better. But still, it is just an amateur work, so I should cut them some slack. I can't expect them to be perfect, after all.

But I AM perfect!

... *slaughters*

Haha. No, actually, I somewhat agree with you; I need to have Patrick (Roy) use more emotion in his lines. This time was a bit odd, though, because he did the lines quickly to avoid not being able to do them due to losing his voice.

As for Crimson (Ed)-- when I was casting, I had wondered which way I should go for Ed (that is, more towards the original or more towards the dub, because I am a big fan of Vic), but I didn't receive many auditions for Ed (the AVA pool can be rather limited at times). So I went with Crimson, because she sounds similar to Paku Romi.

I think this is also a matter of casting choice-- you wouldn't necessarily cast everyone I cast if you were doing the same thing. I just felt that these were the best voices for their parts, from the limited number of auditions I received.

(Although I have no idea why Patrick's voice brings to mind a male prostitute in drag for you... O.o)

As an aside: I find it amusing that, for a character cast of mostly males, my voice cast is mostly female. XD Ah well, that's the fun of doing fan-related things.

Thank you for the constructive crticism, I appreciate it.

About Roy's voice..........I dunno. It was almost PERFECT, to my ears. But there was this slight twang to it that made him sound a bit gay. I mean, I know he's basically hitting on Alphonse in those bits, but I know he's not supposed to sound gay while doing it. I dunno, it just felt like he was hitting on Ed at the same time, or something. oO'

Though, his laugh at the end of the first bit sounded very good. I thought he sounded the most like Travis for that. :D

I have trouble sometimes trying to consider which Ed tone is better. I like Paku Romi's better in terms of energy and acting, but I like Vic's better in terms of sound and substance. It just LOOKS right to me when I see Ed and hear a voice that properly reflects his age. The problem is that I don't think a voice of Paku Romi's range can work for an English Ed. It's just too high-pitched for most American males of that age. For some reason, females doing male teenage/adult characters just works better in Japan; probably because Asians seem to have, at least to my knowledge, more high-pitched voice tones than Americans do. Now, if we could just find an Ed with a range directly between Vic and Paku, I think it'd be perfect. ^^

Ah, your welcome. And I hope I didn't sound stingy at all in my review. I'm very defensive of the dub, so when I noticed people saying that this was BETTER than the dub, I had to see for myself. ^.^

However, I still say the dub is better.
