What the HELL?
Okay. I was on board for the Funimation train as far as FMA went, and then they went and left out stuff in my favorite episode. The fact that he did not say "mother" at the end when Ross hugged him, really bothered me. I'm very distressed and refuse to buy any more dvds.....

First off, it's ridiculous to get in a fit like this over one line.

Second, it was there, just really really quiet. Watch the rerun, maybe with captions on or something, if you don't believe me.

I apologize. I just want the integrity of the show to be conveyed correctly. I love this episode and there was more than one line they just happened to mess up. I consider this episode to be very pivotal, and find that line to be important. If it is drowned out, then how the heck are we supposed to know he said it? They messed up by drowning it out with the music, because you can hear it perfectly well in the japansese language track.

Yeah, I guess I can understand that, but... Okay, I'll shut up about it.

And, sorry, I wouldn't know if they really drowned it out horribly or not, 'cause my TV has a big echo thing kinda screws sound up a bit. I had to really listen closely to hear it. As someone else stated, in the chatroom Vic asked if we could hear it, and he seemed genuinely concerned. If they're at least worried about it, you know they didn't drown it out on purpose.

I just have someone here that hasnt really seen FMA before, so it bothered me she couldn't hear it very well. I just haven't got quite attached to Vic as his voice actor yet. I think it is harder for someone to adjust to the dub from the sub then the other way around.

Not to be uber nitpicky here, but if the sound is low, it's not the voice actor's fault, it's the sound engineer. The actor's the voice monkey, the engineers have the final say in if you can hear it or not.

good point ^_^. So it isn't vics fault , but still having to do with Funi.
