I bring you RP. o_o;
I read over the rules a couple of times, but didn't see anything specifically relating to this, soo... here's to hoping this doesn't get deleted / I don't get yelled at. T_T (Would this be considered spam? I don't know, I hope not. x_x)

This is a brand new RP, which will hopefully be a lot of fun. ^_^;

Format: Livejournal / AIM. (Second one is not required.)
Genre: Anime (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Name: Alchemist RP
Contact: sinenvious@gmail.com, mistressboleyn
Website: alchemist_rp / alchemist_ooc
Minimum Age Requirement: No limit, but there will be slash and adult themes, so maturity is requested.
Deadline: None.
Characters Needed: Any character aside from Edward Elric, Winry Rockbell, Alphonse Elric, Riza Hawkeye, Roy Mustang and Russell Tringham. (Anime and manga characters both accepted.)

-Storyline-
(Note: This is an AU RP.)

This story actually takes place during the Fullmetal Alchemist anime. As we all know, Edward and Alphonse Elric are brothers who tried to bring their mother back from the dead, but failed in the end, one losing his entire body and the other losing part of his. They have since vowed to get their bodies back and have set on a journey in search of the item that just might make their dreams come true, the Philosopher's Stone....

And this is where we get to the AU part of things. (AU standing for "alternate universe".) This RP is by no means obligated to follow the anime storyline in any way and thus we are allowed the freedom to do as we will. (Granted that it is IC behaviour.) The only things that are set in stone are the very basics of the show, such as the Elric brothers searching for the Philosopher's Stone, Edward Elric being a so-called "dog of the military", the Sins being who they are with the purpose they had and such forth. Everything else is left up to our own imaginations and wishes. Not too hard, right?

-Rules-
(Yes, these had to be done. They won't be anything outrageous, don't worry.)

1.) Be courteous to all players. If you have a problem with someone in particular, it is suggested that you take it up with a mod. If any childish behaviour is spotted, you will be issued one warning and one warning alone before being removed from the community. I hardly think asking everyone to be polite is too much.

2.) Stay in character at all times. This rule cannot be stressed enough. When someone wants to interact with the character you have decided to play, they want to interact with that character, not with whatever alter version you want to give them. If your character is meant to be strong and quiet, have them strong and quiet. If they're supposed to be loud and obnoxious, have them loud and obnoxious. Storylines are up for debate here, your character's basic personality is not. (I must add, though, that you can feel free to add your own little quirks to the characters, as long as it doesn't hinder them from remaining in character.)

3.) No god-modding. This means that you do NOT make a character do *anything* unless it is your character or you previously have permission from the original mun (player) of the character. (And, please, if this happens, let a mod know so there will be no problem!)

4.) Use lj-cuts when posting RP logs. (If you do not know how to use one, please see the FAQ here.) Make sure that you label these logs properly, letting everyone know which characters are involved, when the log takes place, the rating and such forth.

5.) Have some maturity! NC-17 posts *are* welcomed here (Just make sure you give it the proper rating, so people will know *before* they read it!) as are dark themes (Also properly labelled), so make sure that you are willing to deal with this when joining this community, because all complaints will be ignored later on, as it means you have obviously not done your homework.

7.) Use proper grammar/spelling! (An easy, online spell checker can be found here.) No one likes reading through a bunch of mispelled words and netspeak is just INCREDIBLY annoying. You will only receive two warnings about this before you are tossed from the community.

8.) Be aware that all pairings are accepted in this community. Whether it be het, yaoi or yuri. If you have a problem with any of these, either kindly keep it to yourself or perhaps find another RP to join.

9.) One character per person. Perhaps later this rule will be changed, but, as of right now, please only apply for one character. (Also, be sure to check recent applications/the taken character list to make sure you're not applying for a character that's already been applied for/taken.)

I'm a bit curious as to how Rp's work online and how this one is going to function. I've RPGed with a group of people with a game master who sets up a storyline and the players play through (but half the time their actions force the game master to change his plans becasue the group is too smart for him mwaha) but I don't think that's the way it's going to work here (unless I'm mistaken) If I joined, I'd probably need to know the time zone and how long I'd need to RP a day or whatnot (this next month is going to be quite busy ^^; but I stay up uber late anyway) If it's possible, I'd like to Rp as dear Roy Mustang.

Wow I feel stupid....*goes to look at the communities you posted about*

Okies, I shall do my best to explain how this one shall work online. It will basically consist of two aspects - Scenes and journal entries. Of course, you'd have to create a journal for your character and you would update there, just as you update your normal journal, just as *them* instead of yourself. With the the scenes, they can be written through LJ (You'd just start a thread on the RP community and whoever was doing the scene with you would reply via comments) or it can be done over AIM (Which is usually a lot simpler) and then posted to the RP community.

Concerning the storyline, it is all up to the players. The only things that are set in stone are the basics, such as Roy Mustang being in the military wanting to become Fuhrer, Edward and Alphonse searching for the Philosopher's Stone, Winry being an automail mechanic and ect. Aside from that, it's all free and up to debate. As long as the people involved agree with the storyline they're partaking in, anything's game. (It's pretty much a "If you didn't like the way FMA went, decide for yourself how things should end up!" kind of story. xD;)

As to time zones, no clue what everyone else will be on, but I'm on Central. (I play Edward. ^^) There is absolutely no set limit as to how much or how little you have to RP. As long as you don't RP so little that it brings the storyline you're involved with to a halt, then you can RP as much or as little as you like. ^^

Since Roy hasn't been taken yet, all you gotta do is fill out the application and post it over at alchemist_ooc. As long as everything's in order, you'll be accepted. ^_^ <3

[And sorry if my explanations are just more confusing than anything else, I suck at explaining things. xD;;;]

Sounds fine to me ^^ I write fan fiction often enough so I have experience writing (plus my school has an intesive english program *kicks it for the mass amount of assigned essays*) but one thing though is I have not finished most of the anime (have all of the episodes downloaded on my comp and plan to watch several tonight) though I've read almost all of the translated manga online. If you would prefer someone who knows more for the time being, I can just wait for another rp to come around or apply later on if a character I want hasn't been taken.
mistressboleyn on April 7th, 2005 11:33 pm (UTC)
No, no, it's fine that you haven't seen it all. Since it's AU, there's no need for anyone to have complete knowledge of the series. ^_^

I suppose I'm good then. (I usually pay a lot of attention to the characters I particularily like so I've gleaned a lot from what I've read/seen of Roy)
mistressboleyn on April 8th, 2005 12:33 am (UTC)
That's awesome. ^_^ Sounds like you'll make a great Roy. <3
