Translation question: the elusive Mrs Miles

I have a highly important nerding question for you all. So, maryh10000 clued me into something that rocked my world today: the line where Major Miles says he's married may be maybe possibly a mistranslation!

*_*

Remember how Miles casually mentions his wife in that one panel? Thus causing all kinds of interesting stuffs for fic writers who want to tackle the Major's romantic life or inner workings because a) we know nothing about her so have to put our thinking caps on and work out what kind of lady we think she is and/or b) Miles is hot and we want to ship him with people.

Apparently, the wife he refers to is his father's.

The panel in question is on page 17 of Chapter 65, in Volume 16. I don't have the Viz volume in question, drat, but I hear they translated it as "my father's wife" rather than "my wife". Can anyone confirm this sighting?

I also do not read Japanese, frandammit, but I do have the original Japanese version of the panel in question, if any Japanese-speakers here fancy tackling it. Help a loser fangirl out! It's what Olivia would want.

FIC: From Childhood's Hour 4/6 [RoyEd, hard R]

Title: From Childhood's Hour [4/6]
Author: seatbeltdrivein
Rating: Hard R
Word Count: 5108
Summary: While Roy looked for any reason to see Ed in person after they were stationed so far apart, an investigation into the violent death of a child wasn't exactly the romantic rendezvous he'd intended. There's a dangerous alchemist on the loose in Central, and the deeper the investigation goes, the more disturbing Ed finds it—not to mention familiar.
Overall Warnings: Sex, Ed's mouth, violence, character death (OC)
Notes: An AU of the first anime-verse that assumes that Ed is still in Amestris and a State Alchemist while Al's body has been restored. This was originally written during NaNoWriMo 2010 and is too long to post all at once, so I'll be posting it in parts as I finish editing it. Thanks to a_big_apple and bob_fish for their awesome beta-skills and feedback on this part!
***Extra: I'm sure you've noticed that it changed from a five-part to a six-part series. This is because I am lame and suck at dividing long things into separate parts. In order to leave it at five, I would've had to jam this chapter and the next chapter both with waaaaay too much. So six parts it is now! Apologies and all that, but at least the next part will be out sooner? :'D
Part one can be found HERE.
