See the subject of this post? Good, you've been warned then.

( BEHOLD! A fake LJ-cut! )

Hagaren Perfect Guidebook 2 came out in Japan recently. I've been unable to procure a copy myself, though not for lack of trying (Curse you, Kinokuniya! D< ) but I've been skipping around the J-Fandom in search of any clue on whatever it is that the book has.

There's the usual interview with the Great Cow Spirit, summaries, gaiden manga (this one featuring Izumi), and.....a section on the military people. Such as how Havoc, Farman, Breda and Fury ended up in the military. And the identity of the elusive Chess General, which some of us called Cameron.

Source : http://momodori.seesaa.net/article/3191587.html

If there's anything wrong with Havoc and co, I apologize. I haven't seen the text itself and am a bit leery of translating what I haven't seen personally, but that's the gist of what the blogger wrote. He's about the only one who goes into good detail that I can find on short notice. But the entire JFandom agrees on the Chess General bit, so it's probably correct.

Do not click if you want to preserve your freedom from canon. And I'd advise you not to click if you don't know who said General isCollapse )

The perfect guidebook itself can be found in Amazon.co.jp. I want, dammit!

( amikitty, I posted it. Is everything alright with the world now? XD; )

Also : According to the FMA Complete Materials : Story Side book, Riza is four years younger than Roy, who is the same age as Hughes, for anyone who's wondering. His onscreen deeds in Ishvar was done when he was....22, I think. It's either 22 or 23...the exact year eludes me for the moment. Yes, what he did in episode 13 and 15 was in the same year. The end of Episode 25 was the last event to occur in 1914, after Ed reaches Rush Valley, the book lists the year as 1915. For those wondering. It does say a few things about the climate of Amestris, I guess.

I was at Anime FX (in VA), which is Delaware Anime Fans/deanimefans sponsor yesterday. I spent some money as usual. I bought the first Cromartie High School dvd, a set of Chobits pins featuring Chi and Sumomo, and 2 key chains.

The two I bought

I belong to the_puff_house, a sub-community of the hogwartsishome community, where people can be sorted into different Hogwarts houses and participate in "school activities." You can see by the community name where I landed. (I've always considered myself more of a Ravenclaw, but hey). Anyway, they have a little monthly in-house competition, and this month, it was "Take your favorite book, TV show, movie, etc. and sort one character from it into each of the four Hogwarts houses."

I did it for FMA, and what I came up with was as follows:

Gryffindor: Edward Elric, who puts himself fearlessly on the line constantly for the sake of his mission of finding the Philosopher's Stone.
Ravenclaw: Shieska, who lives in a house full of books and literally reads anything she can get her hands on.
Slytherin: Roy Mustang, who is determined to become the Fuhrer of Amestris and is not above manipulation when he deems it necessary (i.e., the train incident).
Hufflepuff: Alphonse Elric, who shows compassion to everyone from Scar to a stray kitten left out in the rain.

So I'd like to toss the question out to the group: If you were the Sorting Hat, and you were presented with the cast of FMA to sort, where would you put them?

As the topic says, I'm wondering if there are any translators here that wouldn't mind translating something for me. The 'something' is none other than the/a Maes Hughes doujinshi anthology. It's just like it sounds -- a compilation of doujins about everyone's favorite character *nudge nudge wink wink*. As far as I can tell, there isn't anything people would consider objectionable in the content -- no yaoi, nothing graphic at all. Oh yeah, and it's in Japanese.

Of course, I have yet to scan the anthology (that will come after I fix the scanner), but I can link any interested parties to information about the book.

Several offerings tonight.

Most of them behind cut tags.

2 Songs sets.
A Flash animation (original character work) by hakuyama
A Sins Colorbar.

Colorbars: Ok, who did I miss? Did I get all requests? Please let me know if I missed any.
Previous Colorbars pages are: here and here.

sky_dark sez: I've been asked often enough I should point this out. While I do not consider my textless icons 'bases' (way to much work goes into these things...bases are cropped unaltered images), yes you may alter them as you like by putting your own text on them. Or ask me to do it for you. No prob.

annaonthemoon when you get a chance can you come in here and put up the code for the Sins? Thanks! =D

I'd like to invite people to take a look around at my friend and I's Fullmetal sites. There is a pretty good chunk of content now and the domain is steadily growing. Be warned, however, the third site linked above is dedicated to Roy x Ed x Roy, so if that is not your cup of tea keep away.

And if anyone is interested in a mood theme, here is a sample.

Note: This might be slightly off-topic but it has crackish possibilities. Sorry.

Just wanted to inform those who didn't know that tomorrow (10.May.2005) is National Shrimp Day. Finally, a holiday where we can honor our favorite chibi by... well, eating him. ^_^
