Random factoids from symbolism books x3.

Title says it all, random factoids from here and there-Actually from "The Language of Symbols" by David Fontana.I'm sorry if these were already posted ^^;;.

Within alchemy, the journey to enlightment, journey to the seek of the Philosopher's Stone, was called 'The Great Work'-AND Ishvalites were ones taught the "Great Art"(obviously,alchemy.x3). Woah, twice the word 'great'!

Salamander, representing spirit and guardian of fire x3.Yes,the lil thingie on Roy's gloves. Symbol is a triangle with a dot inside near the top x3.

...Actually, since my book isn't really a reference,I was wondering if someone had extra informatio on the 'crown of perfection'? I would have also wanted to talk about the Green Lion(primordial matter, yes, but would that be erroneous to say materia prima?),but I'm scared to say erroneous things^^;;.
Oh,and the representation of the 'green lion eating the sun' would make one think of how the military "ate" Lior x3.

Oh yesh, nakedness was symbol of purity and innocence-Clothes being more ambivalant.
So 'not real clothes' moofy--> pure and innocent, Homunculus style-cltohed moofy--> mean and not pure nor innocent .
...
Ah,I wanted to ask also, two snakes are the caduceus, but a single snake?
..
.Sorry for the corny comments,I need some sleep t_t.But Yey! off for a few weeks, you'll get rid of niwaka!(if anyone cares^^;;).

Interest in a new comm?

I know there's already a ton of FMA communities in existance, but hear me out on this one. ^^

I've heard several people say they'd like FMA news and links, but find fm_a too be just too busy for their friends lists. Would there be interest if I created a comm called fma_announce or something similar, with a tightly moderated span of topics? Would people be willing to crosspost news there? Obviously this isn't the sort of community likely to sit next to fm_a on someone's list, so I doubt crossposting will bother many.

Anyone think this might be a good idea?

Okay, I went ahead and made fma_announce for all your, um, announcing needs.

Seven Nations - King of Oblivion

(no subject)

Again, I’m not that good at it. But since it’s probably a while til the pros come in…here’s something to help with the appetite.

And the scenes in this one (and probably the next) oh-so-need to be animated. The Mustang staffers = Damn cool. PLEASE. MAKE AN OVA FOLLOWING THE STORYLINE. *sobs*

And, on a totally unrelated note, who else has the second Drama CD? I just almost laughed to death on Creepy!Ed’s chibi moment. *snicker* I love Romi Paku. She’s just wonderful. (Especially as Armstrong!Mother. *snicker* Combine that with Al!Catherine, and I have this wacky theory in my head that the Elrics are long lost Armstrongs, what with the blonditude and the antennas. Except that the Armstrongs are tall. Oh well.)

My poor conference paper. It's been so neglected.

More Dub News for FMA

Taken from AnimeNewsNetwork.com

FUNimation plans to do something “very special” with the first volume of Fullmetal Alchemist, but at this time no details were available. Tofu Records will be holding a special event for Fullmetal Alchemist at Otakon with L’Arc-en-Ciel present (L’Arc-en-Ciel provided the second opening theme for the TV series, only that opening theme will be used on Cartoon Network). FUNimation also had a life-sized, 7 foot tall Alphonse at its booth and will be bringing him with them to Otakon and other conventions this year.

and reguarding bonus material on the DVDs

Regarding extras for Fullmetal Alchemist, Heiskell was not aware of the details at this time, but as a rule FUNimation generally tries to get as many of the original extras as possible.

Sounds like they're giving it their all to make it an excellent release. I wonder if the extra's for the US release will be anything similar to the Japanese release. It'd be great if they really packed in the extras with each disc, to help warranty what I'm sure will be something like a $25-$35 price tag per disc.

Hola~!

Right... newbie post. *wiggles butt*

I didn't prepare anything... but I do have a drabble I typed a few days ago, while I was having a cold.
