Yo folks!
Hiya, real name's Robert, but my nickname is Eternally Lost Zeppo, so most folks just call me Zeppo. ^_^

Anyway, I've been a fan of FMA since it was released on fansubs, and have seen all 51 episodes.

I'm a fanfic writer, though I've yet to get anything finished, and I'm also a TV Ops Graduate, so I'm looking to start doing some Anime Music Videos in the near future, for fun as much as to brush up on my editing skills.

Only got one or two ideas for FMA AMVs at the moment, and don't think they're very good ones, so I'm probably not gonna be doing them anytime soon, but if anyone knows where I can get some good RAWs of FMA, let me know.
Coz if I use my fansubs I'll have to cut out the subtitles, which could be a pain. :-S

I'm also a big fan of soundtrack music, and I'm hoping to get the FMA OST 2 CD with my Christmas money. My fave FMA openings are Rewrite and Undo, and my fave ending themes are Tobira No Mukou He and Unerasable Sin, though I love all the others too.

Anyway, that's all I can think of mentioning about myself, anything else you want to know, feel free to ask. ^_^

muahaha

I've got raws of 41, 42, and 44. . . >>; Not sure where you can get the rest though -- try IRC. Though, probably plenty of people on here can help you.

And FMA OST 2 = <3

Erm, FMA OST 2 = <3 ? That's good, right?

*Years on the internet and still doesn't know all the lingo* ^_^;

<3 is a heart mark. Therefore, "FMA OST 2 = <3" means "FMA OST 2 is love". Or whatever you wish to translate a heart into.

Nice to meet you :)

I'm afraid I can't help you with the raw episodes, but I'd like to know as well, so if you do find out, please let me in on it.

Even though I've been a fan of FMA for a little while, I've only just gotten into FMA fanfics (I was afraid of the fandom...) and I'm still searching for the really good stuff. I'd be interested in reading what you have to offer, so it'd be nice if you shared if/when you get around writing!

See you around!

I've got some good fic ideas, some not-so-good ones, and ones that could go either way, depending on how I do them.
One of the ones that could go either way is an FMA/Buffy fic (Don't hit me!) that I'm working on in response to a challenge.

Yeah, I know, Buffy and FMA probably isn't the best crossover idea ever, but I have an idea for how to do it, so I may give more details in a later post.
I have better fic ideas that I'll probably work on before finishing this one anyway.

I'd give it a go... even though I'm really not big on crossovers (and not big on Buffy). It's just that they are usually not made believable/interesting and the character interaction and story tend to be hazardously bizzard at best >_< Still, I'd give it a go, and see :] Everyone deserves a chance.

Oh, hey! djcati from the GA group? Sorry, didn't know it was you til I read your username...yeah, I'm very observant as always. ^_^

And thanks saya_aensland for clearing that up for me.
Guess it's true what they say, you learn something new everyday. ^_^

You could use the Dub versons as Raws less the station Icon stays up too often. but for the later eps i bet you got more then nuf links

No!
Bad idea, and I say this as an 'experienced' AMV creator. Station watermarks are annoying as all hell and will actually get you disqualified from some conventions if they're in your video. Capturing from the TV will give you all sorts of quality issues, unless you have something like Tivo, in which case you've got yourself as good a copy as you'll get from broadcast. It'd still be censored, though.

If you're making an AMV, never settle for anything less than the highest possible quality you can obtain.

Hmm...I think that would be Roy.
His flame alchemy is cool, plus I like his backstory and personality.

Well, I have raws of, lesse. 1 through 10 and 15 through 42, and in a couple hours (give or take and pending Tsutaya having vol 4 and 12 available for rent), I should have 11-14 and 43-46 as well. Within a month and change I'll have 47-51 too. Viva rentals!

If you're willing to pay international shipping for what will end up being 15 or 16 discs, as well as wait a bit (I'm not distroing these raws until I've done my own FMA vid so nya =P) we may be able to work something out.

Anyway, be careful working with fansubs or raws. Premiere won't take XviD/DivX straight up without causing massive problems. Ask kiarrens if you'd like detailed accounts of her misery, and read up on all the guides at animemusicvideos.org to know how you should handle fansubbed footage, etc.

Hmm...I'll have a think about your offer.

I'm probably gonna be getting the DVDs when they come out anyway, so I'll probably be able to rip those for footage, but that'd mean I'd have to wait a while to use material from later episodes.
And yeah, I'd rather not use fansubs of it for editing, coz then there's the problem of getting rid of the subtitles.
dokool on December 22nd, 2004 08:41 am (UTC)
Yeah, I plan on getting the R1s too. My source definately *isn't* for watching, I ripped the video only (no audio streams, etc) and even cut the Avant from a couple episodes so that I could fit everything onto one disc.

And for what must be the 2nd or 3rd time in history, the American DVD count will actually match the Japanese DVD count at 13....
