In regards to FMAdub chat
Most of you know about the idea for a chatroom that I had back when FMA first started airing on Cartoon Network. It was to be a place to meet when FMA aired on Saturdays and Thursdays so we could all watch and see the episodes togehter, and more importantly to react to the dub in general. The chat became even more successful with members of the English cast were brought into the room.

For those who DON'T know, the chatroom is accessible through AIM (and thus AOL), by inviting your own screen name into chat, and by being sure to name the room "FMAdub."

With more and more fans coming to FMA and to this community, that means more people that might want to come to chat. It IS a public chat room after all.

That said, I now come to the point of this post: the "smut" that occurs in the chatroom.

I do not appreciate coming into the chat room to find people essentially CYBERING--there is no better term for roleplaying someone panting and moaning, calling out someone's name, and moving rhythmically and what have you. Acting out sex IS cybering, and it should NOT be done in public view.

I know not all who role-play participate in such acts, but I'd appreciate an end to drawn out role-playing that is essentially an excuse to throw chosen character together for self-gratification.

The "FMAcrack" room was thought up for a reason. If you don't want to use that room, fine, make up your OWN room, but please, take the overdone rp smut elsewhere. Just because people don't say anything about it, doesn't mean they like it. Or maybe they don't mind it much, but after a while it DOES get to them. It alienates some people, be it by making them not want to return to chat, or by making them ignore the chat mostly while the ARE there. I'm not banishing anyone (not that I had the ability even if I wanted to), and I'm not telling people not to have fun. What I am saying is that I want FMAdub to remain a general room where ALL fans can have fun.

If you want to have your smutfests, by all means, have them, but, like how people do IRL--GET A ROOM!

Thankyou for listening, and sorry for taking this to the community--it was the only way I knew of to get this message to those who needed to hear it.

PS: My mood is cranky cuz my cat walked on the keyboard, deleted the post I originally typed up. BAD KITTY!

Well, convenience aside, I'm worried that the "talent" will eventually stop agreeing to come, especially if they get stalked afterward. It's to protect the chatters and the talent as well.

Raenef is SO MUCH love. Eclipse encompasses more adult terms, though. XD

If the chat grows much more, we might relocate to irc for guest chats--especially if someone can set up a java client for the room for those who don't have mIRC installed on their computers. And as long as a sane person can set up the room to make it so that only certain people can make messages. (we can voice people to ask questions and then unvoice them after a question.)

Raenef is Love. Eclipse is smex. XD

Heh, that's still me. ^_^ I forgot that was you until I checked your userinfo...my bad. ^^;;; Anyway, the channel I set up's still around, so...if you ever do want to relocate, I'm more than willing to give a little easy training to the admins/mods. ^_^

Or, since the mods and admins would need to use an actual client, I'm willing to do the technical aspects of the room. :D

Oh, and, yes, you took the words right out of my mouth regarding Eclipse. XDXD
