Roy Mustang Character Song File
Hi everyone! I was checking on the Roy Mustang Song File CD, and well... The Japanese site has a list of the tracks on the CD. ^_^ The original Japanese site is here. As a rough translation, the tracks are

1) Tsuki no Uragawa (The reverse side of the moon)
2) Shonen yo, shinjiru nakama yo (Young man, believe in your friends)
3) Ame no Nichi wa no sankyu (Rainy Day; No thank you)
4) Tsuki no Uragawa (Instrumental) [The reverse side of the moon (instrumental)]

I'm not sure if my kanji readings are correct though, and the 3rd track confused me a bit, but I believe the translated english meanings should be ~roughly~ correct. ^_^ Sounds like a whole lot of ballads to me. Anyone care to check?

[Edit] Whoops... Got misled by the floating dot thingy in the 3rd track... It really reads as "Rainy Day; No thank you", as kaitou_Marina and bushbaby_sama have kindly pointed out. ^_^

Actually, I've read the third track as "Rainy Day No Thank You" XD

And I think my icon wants to kill your icon ^______^

Yeah, it's read as "Rainy Day; No Thank You" as kaitou_marina said, because we all know how much Roy loves rain. A duet with Riza no less! <3
Marikaitou_marina on December 2nd, 2004 08:46 pm (UTC)
It's probably about how useless he is in the rain XD
Feriawithout_reason on December 2nd, 2004 08:47 pm (UTC)
*imagines Riza mocking him through out the song* XD
Marikaitou_marina on December 2nd, 2004 08:49 pm (UTC)
Well of COURSE she's going to XD

Roy: *trying to sing something cheesy about a rainy day*
Hawkeye: But you're USELESS in the rain!
Roy: Not when women are involved *leer*
Hawkeye: *DIES LAUGHING*
Roy: ... HEY!

I thought the second one should be "A Young Man/Boy, His Trusted Friends".

I read that as "Ame no hi NO SANKYUU" rather than "Ame no nichi..."

Oh and wouldn't the mass-group one (Shonen-tachi one) make more sense as "Guys, Believe in your Friends"?

(Ends person-who-is-tired random) ^^;

I don't think "Shinjiru Nakama yo" should be translated as 'Believe in your friends'....that should be 'Nakama wo shinjite yo' or something along the lines...

That line makes it sound like Speaker A is simply addressing the 'Shonen' and the 'Trusted Friends'

Of course, I may be wrong.

I agree with you, it seems more like two separate subjects being addressed, not a command. I always translate nakama as companions or comrades when its being used by someone in the military/in a position of power as it seems more commanding, but the meaning is the same and I think thats really just my weird vocab preference *L*

If I wasn't so poor, and living in 56K modem hell, I would buy/download that CD. The military cast doing backup pwnz.

(BTW, your icon is uber-creative.)
