Something I noticed when rewatched episode 44

Ok, as I was rewatched episode 44 Al asked his dad why Homunculus can't use alchemy. And he anwersed it's because they came from the other side of the gate.

Now, this got me thinking. Since on the other side of the gate is the real world(our world), and that there are people in Ed's world that are like the people in the real world. So would this mean that when the Homunculus died in Ed's world and when they tried to bring them back does that mean they took the people that were like them from the other side of the gate? But woldn't that make them human because there from the other side of the gate or would the human trasmutation make them how they are?

Gomen ne if this sounds confusing. I'll try to be more clearer if no one understands. ._.

It's a theory that's been going around already, that trying to bring back somebody with HT actually is dragging their alter self from the other side, though it really fucks them up on the way and red stones are required to fix it. I figure it means you kill them on the way somewhere and they aren't humans anymore because you tried to take the alter body and force the soul of the person you know on them. It just doesn't work, only some shreds of memories stick. I think it would explain why the WTF,they can't identify with these memories since they really never were that person.

Hope that makes any sense to you. ^^;;

OH! That acutally explains a WHOLE lot more then I was imagining ^^;;. It really makes a whole lot of sense too...I never really put two and two together so things kinda go unanswered for me unless I watch something over and over again(which made me relize this because I didn't know what was on the otherside of the gate thus I thought rewatching it would help me to better understand somethings).

Oh, but you explaining that to me made the anime about the gate and the Homunculus makes SO much more sense...Thank you! I'll be able to explain it to my friend when I go up to show her this anime ^^; But thanks again!

Edit-

Then this made me wonder about when Ed when into that world...and he took over the other Ed's body. Could you explain that whole situation for me? ;_; I understand some of it but things just don't make alot of sense for me unless I have some one explain it to me or I watch it over and over again.

I could be wrong, but the way I understand it is:

Ed's soul was seperated from his body when he went through the gate for the first time -- now, Ed COULD have gone with his body and went through the gate like Hohenheim did, so he'd be himself on the other side.

However, Ed's soul went through the gate before waiting for his body to catch up (Hohenheim explained at some point that the soul can travel faster than the body, I believe.) So, his soul had no place to go but to his alter body once he entered the "real world" behind the gate.

So, we have Ed in Alter-Ed's body! T_T Now that I say that, I feel bad for Alter-Ed. I mean, he's doing his own thing and all of a sudden he's possessed by Ed and then Ed gets his body killed.

Anyways, after that body died, Ed's soul was able to leave the body again. He went back and found his original body in the gate and returned! I hope that explains it! o_o Maybe I'm completely wrong, though! Ahaha.

It's still just a theory but I figure it's the one that makes the most sense so I stick by it.

It does make the most sense. Thanks for your help
