amurica, we're being manipulated
I've finally discovered the truth about the War on Terror.

As I was watching the Presidential debate tonight, I was trying to decide which deadly sin was best embodied in our President, Good Ole Dubya. The answer is, of course, all of them, but as I was thinking, my mind (as it does at every oppurtunity) began wandering to FMA, and suddenly everything became clear...

Our world is in great danger. The fact that American troops are trapped in the death pit of the Iraq conflict is bad enough, but it is nothing compared to the administration's real plan. And that is... to create the Philosopher's stone.

Think about it. We all know the Cheney is in poor health - would it be too far from the truth to consider him already dead? Compare him to Dante, and we have a power-crazy immortal who is in desperate need of a new body. All he needs is a puppet, a homonculus to do his bidding. Someone soulless and immoral, incapable of emotions and only able to think about himself and his kind. And of course, the best choice is -- Dubya himself!

So we have Dubya the soulless Homonculus, Cheney the puppeteer, and an entire country full of brown-skinned foreigners with religious differences from the attacking country and Whammo! Instant philosopher's stone! Watch out world, Dick's gonna get a new skin suit.

You there. Keep your politics out of my anime

Thank you! I was thinking the same. It would be funny to me if it were all true, but it's not. Sorry. ^-^ *huggles Bush*

You're welcome and thank you too for reaffirming my belief in the anime community.

I don't really see anything wrong with mixing anime with current events for humour purposes. Especially if it's behind a cut with a warning.

Pfft. You keep yer comments outta my post! Pwned! XD
Asrimalasrimal on October 14th, 2004 05:32 pm (UTC)
Uhm, I can choose to comment or not comment on any post I want, especially in what is known as a 'public community' which is A group of people having common interests. Thus bringing me back to my previous statement, your post is perfectly fine in a democratic or anti-bush community however in a community that is decdicated to Full Metal Alchemist it isn't very compatible. No matter how you put it. So now who's pwned?

Chill.

I'm perfectly chill, oddrid is just being childish.

maybe aburame was being silly, which is perfectly acceptable. I just think that if something like this is going to bug you, maybe you shouldn't bother reading.

I have apologized.

Wow, dude, you're a little too emotionally invested in this. I was merely responding to your comment, which I thought was meant to be funny. I didn't think you'd be seriously pissed off about applying a real concept to anime, because, well, that's a dumb thing to care about. Politics is in everything my friend, and I just think it's neat to compare two things I'm interested in.

Now about your previous statement, this wouldn't make any sense in an anti-Bush community because probably about two of the people in the community would have an idea what FMA is. Here, it's fine to assume that everyone knows about the conflict America is having with Iraq, and that everyone has watched FMA. And obviously, everyone else is pretty damn compliant with what I wrote anyway. Do you follow? Now, let's add the assumption that people here are going to read the warnings on the cut tags, and not get pissy about things they have no right to get pissy about, it being behind the cut tag and all with the warning "Conservatives Beware." So no, I don't really feel pwned at all. :)

Fine, fine. Whatever, I'm just going to shut up now.
