Why I love my hall...
So my hall in my dorm got a chalkboard today. Within 15 minutes, this was written on it...

I challenge you to decipher it. The only hint I can provide is that the equation results in a highly dangerous substance. Enjoy!

The whole of the equation...

First half...

Second half...

*Edit: In response to the original equation, and partially because some people are more visual than others, I have drawn out roughly what the second equation should look like in transmutation circle form.

Can you use it as fertilizer?

I used to know some of these, my old chemistry textbook had a diagram of old elemental symbols but now I can't remember what any of them are... -_-

Re: Winner!
Nope on the second one. Come on! This one is easier than the first one! It's a very basic substance.

I only recognize 3 of the symbols, and the rest aren't traditional alchemy symbols. I also haven't gotten very far in FMA yet. However, I am going to make an educated guess from what I can tell and say Black Powder.

The sulphur and potassium ones were fine, your symbol for charcoal was new to me - I recognize the star on its own to represent either quintessence or a combination of all elements, and I admit I haven't seen it drawn that way - alhtough I have seen the circle on it's own. The symbol for potassium nitrate aka saltpeter I had to go to my books for, and I have never seen it drawn as that flower symbol you gave as the alternate.

I've always had an interest in alchemy and I've idly been doing research in my spare time since high school. I had fun working on this puzzle, and I would love to collaborate sometime and see what other info you have, as I'm especially interested in the symbolism, myself.

also... does anyone have FMA episodes 13+ that I could get off the network or borrow on CD?? I want more!!
